Cyclone Squadron
Report #9
8.14.2005 - CM Katherine Cantor Flyer
- Wing X is
the Flight Office's Own! We flew like 2500 missions in two months.
I'm pretty sure that TK and I accounted for 1400 hundred of those.

"Another hand.. How does she do it?" A collective groan
went through the assembled commanders as Kate grinned and collected
her winnings. It had been two days since the prison raid, and Moagim
had politely invited Kate to the weekly commander's sabacc game in
the Sovereign cantina. But the soviets were fast beginning to regret
it. Kate, smoking a foul cigar ("I hardly ever smoke, this is
my big chance!") and her feet on the table, had won four hands
in a row. "Hey Flyer, I heard that you decked Moagim the other
day in the hangar. Wanna tell us anything about that?" "He
was being a bantha turd, like every soviet." "Heh, careful
Kate, remember where you are." "Oh, I remember where I am,"
Kate winked and pointed at her winnings..

Commander Flyer, Cyclone 1-1
Well, it's been
another productive week for the Demolition Crew. The Kappa vs Cyclone
competition is drawing to a close, we picked up another pilot (welcome
Lt. Augustus Meridian!) and Commander Shrike did his usual round of
crazy flying and writing. =) I've thus far only picked up four submissions
(including mine) for our competition from Kappa, which is a tad disappointing
since I know what this squadron is capable of. But on the other side
of the leaf, I still believe that we have an outstanding of knocking
down the soviets. After we're done with that, Cyclone can expect a
friendly citations race and another pilot joining our ranks, which
will put us at 11 pilots. Until then, the news..
- The new Cyclone
website layout is complete! Go to http://cyclone.ehnet.org
to have a look, if you haven't already. It has a new competitions
page, as well as revamped banners. Whoohoo.
- Welcome to Lt. Augustus Meridian,
who joins us from Vortex Squadron on the mutt! His arrival brings
our roster to 10, making us the second-biggest squadron in Wing X
behind those Tempest buggers.
- Lt. Phelan has shown the whole initiative thing and started a new
runon on the Cyclone message board detailing what happened when our
little squadron was reopened. Shrike and I have developed a fun plotline
to go along with it describing the recruitment of Fink and how Shrike
got his name, among other things. Fun times. ^^
- Citations are Cyclone's top priority. :P Fly your citations assignments
for the week, and I recommend you for an ISM. It's just that simple.
Fly all of them for the month, and I'll talk to Cor about getting
you a PC. Congratulations to Shrike, who once again shouldered the
load and flew his citations assignments! I'm in awe of this guy. =P
- Cyclone Squadron is the ISD Challenge Squadron of the Month! And
apparently we've been SotM since last June! Whoohoo!
- Cyclone Squadron has engaged Kappa Squadron! All pilots are ordered
to fly TIE-FREE-105 and get the highest possible score. As a fun aside,
you can also write a fiction and try to get another medal. I know
we can win this. =)
This is due on Sunday (today!!)
- Wing X meetings
are 6:00 EST on Sundays in #wing_x. Join us for amusing trivia and
news from around the fleet.
- Congratulations to Tempest Squadron, which picked up two new cadets
and is now full! Cyclone is soon to join them. =)
- Go to http://ehtiecorps.org
or http://www.emperorshammer.org
for the newest fleet news.
- Imperial
Storm V
This is is almost over. I think. Yay. =P
Frodo
is hosting the annual TAC FCHG competition. 'Cloners with mission
creation skilled are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and create
a six mission battle. Winner takes home an IS-PR. I'm working on my
submission right now. =P
- Cyclone Trivia
Each week, I will be sending out a set of trivia questions to the
mailing list. Answer as many correctly as you can, win a prize at
the end of the month if you answer the most. This competition is temporarily
suspended because I'm just that lazy.
Want an IS-GW? Then fly the assigned number of missions for the "Training
Officer's Patrol" for five weeks straight! Easy, huh? I expect
high Cyclone participation for this one, since we are (after all)
the best and most active squadron in the Wing. Let's go!
-
Cyclone Blogging
Not so much a competition as an ongoing event. Cyclone members are
encouraged to maintain a blog on the MB detailing their activity,
their thoughts, etc. Coranel apparently likes this idea enough that
he's starting his own blog soon. =P
-
Kappa vs Cyclone
Participants fly TIE-FREE-105 for a high score and send it to his
or her commander, and CC it to the opposing commander. As a fun addendum,
they can also write a fiction that would garner them an additional
IS-BR. The fics will be judged by Vice Admiral Master. There are no
particular topics for the fiction other than it must feature Kappa
and Cyclone. The top two out of three scores will be taken for the
mission. All entries are due on August 14!

Every week, I select a pilot who's high activity and excellence served
as an example for all Cyclone pilots. The selected pilot earns an
IS-BR at the end of the month, and their profile is enshrined for
the week on the Cyclone Squadron website.
Congratulations
to CM. Alexander Shrike,
who managed to fly all of this citations assignments and write a story
for the Kappa vs Cyclone competition! This guy's dedication to this
squadron is admirable, and he is to be commended! The standings for
this month are Shrike - 2

<DirtyVader> I'd never forgive myself for winning something
for the SOV
So says Dirty Vader after flying on behalf of the Sovereign in the
final battle of Imperial Storm. Lucky for him, the Sov was annihilated
by the Sith. Amusingly enough, the Sov had none of their own pilots
there. =P
