Significant Events of Childhood and Adolescence: If there was a word to describe Jacen's childhood and adolescence, it was "driven". Jacen's parents were both Imperial officers - his father commanded a Corellian corvette, and his mother was an analyst for Imperial Intelligence. From the beginning, they expected nothing less than the best from him, and his competitive nature was all to eager to provide it. He learned to fly small shuttles when he was fifteen, and became an avid swoop racer - much to his parents chagrin at seventeen. His marks in school were nothing short of spectacular by his parents' demand, but he was never really fond of academics. As soon as Jacen was old enough to move away from home, he took off for the most dangerous place he could find - Nar Shaddaa. He quickly became embroiled in the underground culture, racing swoops and brawling in cantinas. A few times, he was hired on as a pilot for courier runs, but he found the back-and-forth travel too boring. After yet another long night of racing, drinking, and fighting, Jacen decided to return to the Imperial Academy.
Significant Events of Adulthood: Jacen trained as a TIE pilot, graduating near the top of his class from the Academy simulators. He was immediately sent into combat flying, and participated in several skirmishes peripheral to the Battles of Yavin and Endor. After the death of the Emperor and the destruction of the second Death Star, Jacen fell in and out of various mercenary and Imperial remnant groups before finally settling on the Emperor's Hammer. He underwent a second phase of training, and was afterward shuttled through squadron after squadron. Early on, a member of the Dark Brotherhood recognised his potential, and Jacen's ambition made him a perfect candidate to learn the ways of the Dark Side. Over time, Jacen worked ihs way up the ranks, eventually becoming Security Officer of the Emperor's Hammer and a Fleet Admiral - a rank he still holds today. He also served in a number of subgroup command positions, and holds the title of Sith Warlord in the Dark Brotherhood.
Alignment and Attitude: Jacen has been a member of the Emperor's Hammer for a very long time. He has been notably absent for the past few years, disappearing after being placed on reserve status. He has no illusions or idealism about the Empire - he knows that the once-glorious regime is dead. He knows the sacrifices that have been made and the atrocities that were committed in the name of the Emperor. His sole concern now is to train himself and protect the ideals that he holds dear, even if they are somewhat outside normal morality.
Former Occupations: Swoop racer, bar brawler, courier pilot, erstwhile martial arts instructor, Imperial TIE pilot.
Hobbies: Reading philosophy, writing, wilderness excursions in the most dangerous places possible, swoop racing, competitive stunt flying.
Tragedies: The death of his parents and sister in the Rebel attack on Coruscant after the Battle of Endor.
Phobias and Allergies: Phobias - none. Allergies - mild allergic reaction to some plant pollens when he doesn't bother using Force healing to restrain it. Jacen insists that he has an allergy to stupidity as well.
Personal View of the Empire and EH: The Empire as an institution is gone, but the ideas it perpetuated are still there - personal strength, determination, self-perfection. Those ideals are still worth fighting for, even in the face of those who would tear them down. He cares little for the trained idealism of younger officers, who he feels have been indoctrinated to the point where they can no longer think for themselves.
Reason for enlisting in the EH: Convenience and some stability. The Emperor's Hammer was the most powerful - and most active - of the Imperial fringe groups that Jacen had worked with. It seemed to have the most secure future for him.
