ISD Grey Wolf
Report #8
6.28.2005 - RA CrimsonFury
Commodore's Report #8
28th June 2005
Another week has ended and time
for me to write my 8th report as COM! Sheesh time goes quick...I've been COM 2
months to the day! Ahh well....still got a while yet before your rid of me! :P
Anyway, I've made one major change to my COM report, that being that I'm not
going to bother with the Fleet/ASF news anymore, unless something REALLY major
comes up that bares repeating. The reason I omit this part of my report is that
you guys already get a Sqd CMDR and a WC report that list (or should list)
relevant fleet/ASF news from the week. I simply do not feel the need to rehash
for a 3rd time the same information.
Like I said though,
if there is some event(s) that I need to weigh in on, I will do so....and rant
if needed ;)
Enjoy the
report!
Ship News;
- New Wing
member: Everyone give our newest member a big Wolfpack welcome. Welcome
to the ship SL Wes Revon Thrum, the newest member of Phoenix Squadron. I'm sure
CM Daniel will take care of you Wes, and should you have any questions etc or
need help, you can always email me at Crim5on@hotmail.com. First drink at the
bar is to be on the house!
- Reporting and contact from
CMDRs: Whilst most of the squadrons in the wing and their CMDRs are
performing well, I'm a little concerned with a few things in regards to this
area. For one, I've noticed I'm still regularly receiving late reports from a
few CMDRs. Deadline for WSRs, as set by BGCOM Gidda is FRIDAY. This gives Ambar
a chance to read them in preparation for his WC report which is due, you guessed
it.....on Saturday. Then of course my report is due Sunday, and I like to have
all the reports on my desk before then too. If anyone is having trouble
fullfilling their CMDR duties, please advise Ambar and
myself!
Ambar and I know that not everyone can complete
every duty ALL of the time. We know many of you have 'real' issues to
contend with: exams, work, overtime, moving/relocating and of course limited
internet access. We have those issues ourselves and are more than capable of
giving you some leeway in certain situations......provided we are advised of
what is happening. This is the current problem.....Ambar and I are often finding
out weeks later after chasing YOU, what the problem was/is and this is just too
long to be wondering whats happening with a CMDR. So from now on, if you are
having trouble in real life, and/or workload is putting you under pressure, let
Ambar and I know so that we can excuse you from or assist you in completing your
CMDR duties so that the wing, and your Squadron does not
suffer.
If we are not involved in this process and you
simply take unexplained leave's of absence you will eventually be removed from
your position(s) by Ambar and myself.
- Websites:
Ongoing. Currently it seems the http://www.isdgreywolf.com/ website is
down, or at least the redirect is. Never fear it will hopefully be sorted
very soon! Outstanding new squadron websites are being organised as we
speak!
- Open FL positions: There is STILL 4 open FL
positions throughout the ship. CMDRs, please do your best to have these filled
in the next couple of weeks. Remember....FO Cyric can/does refuse to put new
cadets into squadrons/wings that do not have filled Flight Leader
positions!
- ASF Competition: BGCOM Gidda announced last
week, another ASF competition called 'The Co'Op Challenge'. Everyone is to make
up teams of three and fly XvT-Free 107 in co-op mode. The highest scoring
3-man team wins the competition! We have still got until July 3rd, so got some
time but start getting some teams together amongst yourselves so we can make a
good showing in this competition. I have yet to see any BSF's or news from Ambar
to say that we've actually had anyone participate in this. If I manage to get
into IRC sometime this week I'll be hunting a couple of wingmates to fly
for this comp with me. I suggest more of you do the same!
- Imperial Storm: After Turn
9 the ASF sits in 3rd place. The Sith and the Sov teams currently sit in equal
1st at 39pts whilst we sit back on 34pts. Again, I hope we get in on some action
soon....it'd be great to see the ASF win!
-
Recruiting: As I said last week, if you have recruited someone
of late and not been given credit, let Ambar know as he's currently chasing up
details so he can award winners for the Wing Recruiting competition! Other than
that all else I can say is that it's great to see we're still picking up the odd
member here and there (SL Wes this week), but always keep an eye out for further
opportunities to recruit new and active members to the ship.
