Commander Kate Flyer stepped into the squadron ready room and took stock of her surroundings. The assembled pilots were some of the best in the fleet, a collection of veterans and newcomes from every corner of the galaxy. Kate nodded once at Domi, her XO, and snapped a salute to her pilots, "Welcome to Cyclone Squadron, pilots. Let's get to work.."

Welcome to the very first Cyclone Squadron report. =) This week marks a historic turn for Wing X, as Cyclone Squadron has been reopened for the first time in quite a long while. For those who don't know me, I am Commander Kate Flyer, the newly appointed leader of this ragtag outfit. It is my intention to whip Cyclone Squadron into the very best squadron in the fleet, let alone the wing. And now onto the news.

Tempest vs Cyclone - I have challenged Maj. Dan to a competition, and he has accepted. All Cyclone pilots will fly TIE-FREE-255 (attached to this report) for the honor of Cyclone Squadron! Submit to me and CC to Coranel. The defeat of Tempest will be the first test of our valor, 'Cloners.

- Congratulations to Lt. Commander Marlin for being selected as Flight Leader 3! Lieutenants Blenheim and Phelan also turned in superb applications. It was a very difficult choice. =)

- Special welcome to Commander Dulcatos, fresh off the reserves. He brings Cyclone Squadron to seven pilots, which is pretty darn good for our first week.

- Next week, I will be launching a FCHG race (the Great Cyclone Race) to get our flying up. Stay tuned for more details on that.

- Welcome to SL Red Phoenix and SL Krulos Helrond, both of them joining Tempest Squadron this week. That makes Tempest the largest squadron in the largest wing in the fleet, and a worthy target for Cyclone Squadron. = )

Competition between the Battlegroups. It should be considered a priority!!! I’ll be bugging everybody about this for as long as it runs!!!

- Cyclone vs. Tempest
I have challenged Tempest Squadron to an honorable duel, and they have accepted. Fly TIE-FREE-255 for the glory of Cyclone Squadron, and send your submissions to met and CC them to Coranel. I expect submissions from every able pilot in Cyclone Squadron by next Friday.

- The Great Cyclone FCHG Race
Starting Monday, I will be counting all missions submitted to me toward a weeklong FCHG race. All missions will be worth one point, all high scores worth two points, and all assigned citations battles (coming Monday) will be worth double points! IS-BWs will be rewarded to the top two point-getters.

- ISD Challenge Sexy Name Comp
It is completely inspired by about 15 minutes of inanity on #wing_x. Coranel thinks it's George's fault, but he is not entirely sure. Anyhow, here's the lowdown. Each of you is to submit to Coranel a list of names that you think are just incredibly sexy. The names that just turn you on. There will be two categories: guy names and girl names. Feel free to submit a list for both categories. Submissions will go to Coranel, and will be "graded" by him, and anyone else he feels like making help him. For each category, an IS-SR to the person with the "best" names, and IS-BR to the runner-up! Deadline is the end of June!!!

- Challenge Letterhead Comp
Your task is to design a letterhead/watermark/symbol/logo/badge for the various units aboard the ISD Challenge. This type of graphic would be something that could be used on all authorial Challenge/Wing X documentation.
Three categories for this: a graphic for the ISD Challenge, a graphic for Wing X, and a graphic for the squads of the Challenge. Coranel is not looking for new banners to go on the TC site.

Best entry into the Ship/Wing category gets an IS-SR. The best entry for each squad gets an IS-BR. The only rule is you can only enter one squad entry. In example, LT Billy Bob can't send in a graphic for three different squads; only to one squad. He could have a max of three entries (ship, wing, and a squad one). Thanks to CM TK-9780 for this comp idea. Submissions go to Coranel.

- WC Report Template
This is the "Design the WC a sexy report template" comp. Basically, Coranel stumbled across Bubba's neat report when he was doing his wing report this past week, and decided that if Bubba can have a cool looking report, he too needs a cool looking report. As Coranel is fairly unimaginative and uncreative, he is leaving it to you, the pilot people, to make him a neat report format. It should have the categories that his usual reports have. Winning one gets an IS-SR and will most likely be used, with the runner-up getting an IS-BR. Submissions also go to Coranel.

Standing orders:

1. Participate in competitions - Squadron participation in competitions is a measure of activity and prestige in the fleet. As the best squadron fleet, I would love to have 100 percent participation in competitions. We can't trounce squadrons like Prae and Typhoon without everybody's help!

2. Fly a battle/make an image/take an INPR - You didn't join the EH to send an extra e-mail a week? Fly just one battle, make one image, take one INPR a week, and it will become a steadily unstoppable force.

3. Recruit - Cyclone Squadron is currently at 50 percent strength. My goal is to eventually have us at at least 10 pilots. With steady recruitment, I know Cyclone will be able to reach that goal.

4. DL a communication tool and stay in touch - Attend meetings, talk to the rest of the squadron, talk to the rest of the wing in #wing_x on IRC. That's the best way for me to know that you are alive!

5. Submit activity reports every Friday - Should be self-explanatory. Send me your activity reports on Friday so I can file my weekly report by Saturday.
