Tempest Squadron Weekly Report #20 – 24th of June 2005
***~Introductory Note~***
This week, we have been participating in a competition against Cyclone squadron, which is still going on until the end of the day. So far, participation on this has not been what I expected. I have only three submissions, including mine, which I don’t think it’s enough to win the competition...If you check the Tie Corps database, you will see that a lot more Cyclone pilots already flew the mission in question. I hope that, by the end of the day, I will have a couple more tfrs in my inbox, or we will sadly loose this battle.
We also had two promotion this week. Congrats to newly promoted LT Krulos Helrond and LT Red Phoenix!!!
This following week is the last week for the Tempest Mascot Tale competition. This is your chance to earn an easy IS-BR....so far no submissions.....check the competitions center for more details!!
Today is also the last chance to pilots that hasn’t been contacting me in more than a month. I would hate to do it, but these pilots will loose their place in the squadron, if they don’t contact me by the end of the day.
Imperial Storm turn 9 has ended. Current standings place our TCBG in fourth place. But I’m confident Bubba will manage to place us in a better position. There are currently no battles going on, but keep posted.

* Congratulations are in order to LT Red Phoenix, who earned his promotion by flying TC-Tie 01 battle!!! He also took part in the competition against Cyclone, being the second best score in Tempest, so far....Good work!!!
* Also congrats to LT Krulos Helrond, who earned his promotion by taking the IWATS AIM Course!!! He also took my advice, and took the IWATS Tie Fighter Tactics Course....Great job!!!
* LCM Impulse has been doing an amazing job at Tempest, usually doing more than what is requested of him!! Congrats to him as well!!
* Squadron Standing Orders: every week I want you to do one of the following:
- Fly something from the Mission Compendium
- Participate on Tempest Tie Fighter Tactics Workshop: pick a Free-Mission and lets get to it
- Take an IWATS Course
- Write some fiction
- Create a graphic
- Submit something for the Squadron Report (Fiction, graphics, garbage, etc)
* Recruitment
Tempest is already the biggest squadron in the wing, but there are still two spots available in the squadron....go recruit, and we will make history in the Tie Corps...and you will also get a medal....
I am offering an ISM per recruit (Cadet and RSV's alike) and a PC per 5 recruits, so there’s a chance for you to get lots of medals and to help not only the squad but also the wing.

* Don’t forget about Wing X’s Sunday meetings, at #wing_x, at 06:00pm EST (GMT -5:00). Trivia is going on, show up if you can.....Locke was on leave, but this should be back on track now that he’s back!!!
* We are, by far, the largest and most active Wing in the whole Fleet....and we are still growing!!!!! Congrats to the Flag officers, for doing a great job!!!
* Pilots in the Wing X have been awarded the Silver Star, for doing a lot of flying....hell, they flew more than 400 missions in a month.....congrats to them!!

Competition between the Battlegroups. It should be considered a priority!!! I’ll be bugging everybody about this for as long as it runs!!!
* Cyclone vs. Tempest
CM Flyer of Cyclone Squadron has challenged us to a flying competition. I accepted it. The mission to be flown is Tie-Free 255. Deadline is next Friday. Whichever squadron has two of the three highest scores will win the competition. IS-BW’s will be awarded to the winners....Let’s get to it....Tie-Free 255 is attached to this report. Submissions are to me, CC’ing our Wing Commander, COL Coranel Both, who will compile the results....this ends TODAY!!! Go fly!!!
* Tempest Mascot Tale
For those who do not remember, Zony – the Jawa is the Tempest Squadron Mascot. You are to come up with a story involving Tempest Squadron and its mascot. Criteria will be humor and creativity. Grammar is not to be an issue. Also, there aren’t maximum or minimum word limits. Deadline is the end of June. Winner will receive an IS-BR....This is the last week of this competition.....go write something useful!!!
* ISD Challenge Sexy Name Comp
It is completely inspired by about 15 minutes of inanity on #wing_x. Coranel thinks it's George's fault, but he is not entirely sure. Anyhow, here's the lowdown. Each of you is to submit to Coranel a list of names that you think are just incredibly sexy. The names that just turn you on. There will be two categories: guy names and girl names. Feel free to submit a list for both categories. Submissions will go to Coranel, and will be "graded" by him, and anyone else he feels like making help him. For each category, an IS-SR to the person with the "best" names, and IS-BR to the runner-up! Deadline is the end of June!!!
* Challenge Letterhead Comp
Your task is to design a letterhead/watermark/symbol/logo/badge for the various units aboard the ISD Challenge. This type of graphic would be something that could be used on all authorial Challenge/Wing X documentation.
Three categories for this: a graphic for the ISD Challenge, a graphic for Wing X, and a graphic for the squads of the Challenge. Coranel is not looking for new banners to go on the TC site.
Best entry into the Ship/Wing category gets an IS-SR. The best entry for each squad gets an IS-BR. The only rule is you can only enter one squad entry. In example, LT Billy Bob can't send in a graphic for three different squads; only to one squad. He could have a max of three entries (ship, wing, and a squad one).

* WC Report Template
This is the "Design the WC a sexy report template" comp. Basically, Coranel stumbled across Bubba's neat report when he was doing his wing report this past week, and decided that if Bubba can have a cool looking report, he too needs a cool looking report. As Coranel is fairly unimaginative and uncreative, he is leaving it to you, the pilot people, to make him a neat report format. It should have the categories that his usual reports have. Winning one gets an IS-SR and will most likely be used, with the runner-up getting an IS-BR. Submissions also go to Coranel.

I hope I get a few more submissions for Tie-Free 255, or else we will loose this one....Of course, I can only expect this for the older pilots...but our new pilots have showed a lot of potential, and they might help a lot if they took part in the competition, and also have the chance to make a good first impression to the whole Wing....Good luck!
