Tempest Squadron Weekly Report #18 – 10th of June 2005
***~Introductory Note~***
Hello boys and girls...This has been a great week. I think that if we can keep this rhythm, Tempest will be a full squadron soon. There was a new pilot coming from the Daedalus, and I think maybe four more could be joining. Three of them were recruited into the Tie Corps by LCM Impulse (like our new arrival Gward) and one of them is a Cadet I helped with the training process. In my opinion, Tempest is already a great squadron, and I think it will be a glorious squadron once more.
In our quest for the glory of having a full squadron, it won’t help at all if I have to AWOL a pilot, so, I remember you once more.....every pilot have to e-mail the CMDR at least once a month!!!! I much rather you did something every week, like flying a free mission or taking IWATS, but you are requested only to keep in touch with me....then, do so!!!!
And special note is dedicated to our new pilot. Gward joined the Tie Corps just like a week ago, completed training, arrived at Tempest, flew TC-Tie 03, and already got his promotion to Lieutenant... Welcome and, already, congratulations to LT Gward!!
Imperial Storm goes on with a battle flown this week for the planet Korriban between the Sovereign and the Avenger Task Force Battlegroups. The battle occurred on last Wednesday, but I don’t have any notice about it’s results yet. The most interesting thing about this battle is that it was fought by all of the battlegroup’s ships....it must have been a great fight....As we expect the results for this battle, we can prepare ourselves to the battle we may fight this week. LT Gward, you might want to take a special look in this site, to get familiarized with the Imperial Storm competition, which we are fighting defending the Tie Corps BattleGroups.

***~Squadron News~***
* New arrival this week, SL Gward came from PLT Daedalus, and already got his promotion to Lieutenant....congrats, LT Gward!!!
* With Gward’s arrival, Tempest has now 8 pilots, which makes us the second largest squadron in the Challenge. I have a feeling that we will even things out with Typhoon in the near future...
* I have awarded the first medal ever for recruiting in Tempest.....congrats to LCM Impulse, who earned himself an ISM....keep it up!!!
* Squadron Standing Orders: every week I want you to do one of the following:
- Fly something from the Mission Compendium
- Participate on Tempest Tie Fighter Tactics Workshop: pick a Free-Mission and lets get to it
- Take an IWATS Course
- Write some fiction
- Create a graphic
- Submit something for the Squadron Report (Fiction, graphics, garbage, etc)
* Recruitment
Tempest is already the second biggest squadron in the wing, but there are still four spots available in the squadron....go recruit, and we will make history in the Tie Corps...and you will also get a medal....
I am offering an ISM per recruit (Cadet and RSV's alike) and a PC per 5 recruits, so there’s a chance for you to get lots of medals and to help not only the squad but also the wing.

Competition between the Battlegroups. It should be considered a priority!!! I’ll be bugging everybody about this for as long as it runs!!!
* Tempest Mascot Tale
For those who do not remember, Zony – the Jawa is the Tempest Squadron Mascot. You are to come up with a story involving Tempest Squadron and its mascot. Criteria will be humor and creativity. Grammar is not to be an issue. Also, there aren’t maximum or minimum word limits. Deadline is the end of June. Winner will receive an IS-BR
* Challenge Letterhead Comp
Your task is to design a letterhead/watermark/symbol/logo/badge for the various units aboard the ISD Challenge. This type of graphic would be something that could be used on all authorial Challenge/Wing X documentation.
Three categories for this: a graphic for the ISD Challenge, a graphic for Wing X, and a graphic for the squads of the Challenge. Coranel is not looking for new banners to go on the TC site.
Best entry into the Ship/Wing category gets an IS-SR. The best entry for each squad gets an IS-BR. The only rule is you can only enter one squad entry. In example, LT Billy Bob can't send in a graphic for three different squads; only to one squad. He could have a max of three entries (ship, wing, and a squad one).

* WC Report Template
This is the "Design the WC a sexy report template" comp. Basically, Coranel stumbled across Bubba's neat report when he was doing his wing report this past week, and decided that if Bubba can have a cool looking report, he too needs a cool looking report. As Coranel is fairly unimaginative and uncreative, he is leaving it to you, the pilot people, to make him a neat report format. It should have the categories that his usual reports have. Winning one gets an IS-SR and will most likely be used, with the runner-up getting an IS-BR. Submissions also go to Coranel.

This ends this week’s report....I have to say I’m pretty excited about the future of Tempest. It will be even better if we have active members...Get into it, fly a little, take IWATS, participate in the fiction comp, write something...If you don’t have an INPR, write one....If you are bored with Tie Fighter, fly X-Wing Alliance a little....then go back to Tie when you miss it....Get a free mission and say this: “I will fly this free mission over and over, until I have it’s highscore”....Let’s show the people in Reserves and the Cadets in Daedalus that this is the squadron they want to be in...Let’s show the whole fleet that this is THE squadron....Well, I think I was inspired today :)
