Wing One Weekly Report #9

Well, it's been an eventful week. RL aside, things have been picking
up pace around here as well :)

Firstly, the Paint Joke issue. LT Doss Riggle has been banned from the
Wing I mailinglist for the period of one month. At the end of that
month, I will invite him back. Kahooli and I have discussed the issue
as well, and I consider the issue closed.

Secondly, CM Serin Jansj has requested a transfer to the reserves. As
Beta Commander, he oversaw and drove what effectively was a
renaissance in the squadron. As a tribute to his rather impressive
accomplishments and conduct, I have requested that he retain his rank
of Commander in the Reserves.

His successor (with consensus from both Serin and myself) is LCM J'Lek Arcanos.

You are the Yak! Err, man. Do us proud :-)

Three pilots were removed from Alpha this week, which is unfortunate,
but not entirely unexpected when pilots go without a Commander for so
long. Kudos to Major Talons for telling it straight.

However, the Alphas we have are a handful already :P

Congratulations to LT Neale, who has broken the thirty mission barrier
and thus earned himself the Commendation of Bravery!

CM Kahooli also distinguished himself with two battles. Nice work. :)

Local News

- CM Serin Jansj resigns, LCM J'Lek Arcanos appointed new Beta CMDR.
- Our Wing Webpage has been bolstered by 100% unoriginal content. You
can still smell the glue. We shall reform, refine and populate it with
original content- make it our own :)
- Congratulations on the appointment of our new/old WC - GN Wolly! Uh,
at least according to the website.
- Imperial Storm data posted on the mailinglist, please be sure to take a look.
- LT Neale flies four battles and aces an AIM IWATS Course!

TC News

- The Fleets for Imperial Storm have been designated. Game on :)
- We have a new OPS and LO! Congrats to VA Pickled Yoda and AD Gilad!
- All XvT bugs in the mission compendium have been removed! I remain
sceptical. I suggest we fly every XvT battle to make sure.
- Newsletter 106 has been released - take a look!
- Applications are being sought for the position of ISD Grey Wolf COM
and ASF BGCOM. Applicants are required to have taken IWATS SM/3 and
not have been charged in the last six months.

As always, more information on the above can be found at

My Activity

- Released the 'Detail your Fighter!' competition. The TO liked it so
much that he is offering another medal to paint his own Tie Defender!
(Hint: His favourite colours are green and orange)
- BSF'ed... no files. Okay Commanders, you don't need to be so nice to
me anymore :-)
- Learned enough about html to copy/paste the template of an old Wing
I website into our new Wing One website. Next - text editing! :P
- Awarded outstanding medals to outstanding pilots. Oh, and Zirus got
an IS-BR ;)

Competitions

Imperial Storm

End Date: The day after we win :-)

This is an EH Wide Wargame. The Sovereign Battlegroup will face off
against the TCBG's, ASF, ATF, DB, IW and a series of other menacing
acronyms as we battle for galactic bragging rights. Due to the dynamic
nature of the competition, I'll be issuing relevant information as
soon as I get it. More details at
http://www.btinternet.com/%7Espellfire/wo_rules.html

Detail a Fighter!

End Date: 30th of April

Awards: IS-SR to 'Best Dressed' Fighter, IS-BR to 'Most Creative'
Fighter, and IS-BR to the best paint scheme for the TO's personal TIE
Defender, Titan.

Misc Info: Wing I's most recent raid on a Rebel convoy hasn't turned
out as planned. Initial scans had indicated amber liquid refreshment.
They got paint instead. Now, the Sovereign's hangar clogged with a
delightful variety of pastel shades (and some very demoralised
pilots), Wing I needs to do something with this paint - and fast.
Using the supplied images, the pilots of Wing I are to detail their
own fighters, and submit their final paintjobs to the Wing I
mailinglist for consideration. Awards are on offer for the 'Best
Dressed' fighter, and the 'Most Creative' submission.

Medals and Promotions

LT Hunter – Iron Star Silver Ribbon
Reason: 1st place in the Wing I Gutterball Competition. Great Work!

LCM James Zirus – Iron Star Bronze Ribbon
Reason: 2nd Place in the Wing I Gutterball Competition. Very, very
close to the win. Great effort!

LT Neale – Commendation of Bravery
Reason: Lieutenant "Praetor" Neale has successfully surpassed the 30
mission requirement for this Commendation- in very good time to boot.
Well done Neale!

Summary

So, there's lots going on, and it's only going to get busier. Hop to
it Silencers!
