Emperor's Hammer Operations Office Report #3

13.5.05

Announcements

This is a special edition OPS report, because something rather rare happened this week. See the medal section for details.

There have been a few issues with squadron patch submissions this week. Basically, no one follows instructions! The procedure for squadron patch submissions is thus:
Mail the patch to Tempest, who maintains TTT. (EH_Tempest@gmx.net). You must also CC myself (ops@emperorshammer.org).

Additionally, the patch must adhere to these regulations (taken from the TTT readme)

  1. Size: Your patch must not be wider than 35 pixels and not higher than 45 pixels.
Patches for the FS can be bigger, up to 60*75 pixels. Feel free to submit in larger
versions, I'll resize them to the correct format then.
Actually, large submissions are appreciated because it makes altering (if necessary)
    of the patch easier.
  2. Shape: Theoretically, all shapes for patches are allowed as long as they fit into the
above-given dimensions. A shape can be denied though if it looks bad or unfitting
(which is subjectively decided by the OPS staff).
  3. Colour: Try to use decent and not too garish colours. Remember that we are officers
and no clowns. A 2 pixels-wide yellowish border around your dress uniform patch,
fitting to the FCHG-badge's border and the wings and the buttons and so on, is highly
appreciated. For the flightsuit patch, a grey border looks best in most cases.
  4. Submit in uncompressed format, such as BMP, and ZIP it up before e-mailing.
    DON'T use GIF format!
Try to AVOID JPG format, too.
    Uncompressed BMP is best.

Medals and Uniforms

As I alluded to previously, this is a rather special OPS report because there was a rare occurance this week. The Recon Officer, Joe (now a Fleet Admiral), recieved the Medal of Honor, the highest medal in the Emperor's Hammer.

To quote the Operations Manual :

"The Medal of Honour is the highest medal a member of the Emperor's Hammer may obtain. The recipients of the Medal of Honour have performed consistent service above and beyond the call of duty and have personally improved the entire fleet through their actions. An example of such service would include personally introducing an aspect to the fleet which proves to be instrumental in its growth. Recipients of this award are afforded the highest respect of their peers and all whom they serve with. This medal can only be awarded by the Fleet Commander"

Uber grats to Joe, who received the medal for his tireless efforts and expenditure to get the EH to Celebration 3!

But that's not all, and there was the usual medals for MSEs as well.

On the Grey Wolf
COL Brucmack - Bronze Star of the Empire - April MSE
LT Blackrage - Bronze Star of the Empire - April MSE

On the Avenger
COL Astix - Bronze Star of the Empire - Outstanding efforts in revitalising Trapper Squadron

On the Challenge
CM TK-9780 - Bronze Star of the Empire - April MSE (featuring over 300 FCHG, no less)
LT Katherine Cantor Flyer - Bronze Star of the Empire - April MSE (also over 300 FCHG, I sense great things in the future for this new pilot!)

We had some good custom uniforms this week. Kudos to Admiral Stuart (CS-TO) and Colonel Mosh (CMDR-Hammer) for their uniforms. Stuart's cheating a little, because everyone knows the CS don't fly. :P
