ISD Grey Wolf
Report #4

Commodore's Report #4
24th March 2005
Hey guys, sorry the report is so
late. I postponed it until Monday arvo my time (like 5am Monday morning US time)
cuz of some RL stuff and then I had a couple of connection problems last night
:( Anyway the EH pages are still down, so there wont be too much fleet news in
this report, but I'm sure most/all of you will have gotten that info in the WC
report Ambar sent out Saturday. Was a pretty quiet week on the ship, with
exception of all the commotion Keiran was making in the simulator room.....how
about some of you try and keep up? Either that or give Keiran some sleeping
pills! :P
Other than that, we're still stifled by the 'usual' problems of
the last few weeks....we still need CMDRs for some of our Squads and as is true
of most of the TC nowadays, not enough new members are coming in.
Actually....I almost forgot about the biggest thing for us this week.....the
release of Revenge of the Sith! I dont know about you guys, but I thought it was
a great movie and well and truely better than either of the previous two
prequels. I also read in the paper yesterday that it has broken the record Shrek
2 held for highest take on it's opening day in america taking 66.3 mil. I think
Shrek 2 was about 60-62mil. It's also taken about $60 mil throughout the rest of
the world, which is no mean feat! Wouldn't mind if we got a cut of the profits
eh boys? I'll have to see what I can work out with Georgey boy. Free drinks for
life....not a bad premise eh? ;)
Enjoy the report!
- The position of ISD-II Intrepid Commodore
is now filled! Welcome aboard and congrats to Admiral Adren Silvori, former
IWCOM, on his promotion.
- For helping out Joe at Celebration III, COL Jan
Wemmel was awarded a GoE this week. Congrats!
- A couple of IWATS courses got
new professors this week, one of which being Odin alumnus VA Lenvik.
- The
Imperial Storm competition has restarted now that Pri has sorted out his comp
troubles. We should start receiving announcements and details for various parts
of the competition when we are called upon to fight.
- A new XWA battle,
XWA-TC 47 was released this week....fly it! XWA-Free 117 was also
released.
Ship News;
- Open CMDR
positions: Yes, we still have open CMDR positions in Odin and
Valkyrie Squadrons at this time. If anyone is interested, please let Ambar
and myself know, we cannot consider you for a command position if we dont know
that your interested! Also, like I've mentioned many times before, if you
know of anyone outside the wing thats interested....encourage them
to apply. We need to fill these positions soon so we can start to get back
on track activity and competition wise!
- Competition Participation: At the
present time, we do not have a lot of mission/battle specific competitions
running, but we do have both our monthly Wolfpack competitions and the ASF HS
competition that VA Gidda started earlier this month. So far I have seen pretty
poor levels of activity in all the comps presently available to members of the
ship. This is pretty disappointing guys, if your not even going to make an
effort to be active in these comps, how do you expect us to set up wing v wing
comps and things like that when we have no visible proof that the wing is up to
such a challenge. I know, as always, the Grey Wolf rises to any challenge set to
it, but at the moment Ambar and I would like to see more of an effort made by
you guys.
I admit myself (I wont speak for Ambar),
that I've not been the best activity role model the past few weeks, but I have
flown for the ASF HS competition and I do maintain an active email and IRC
presence where possible. As far as the competitions on the ship go, we have a
comp for just about every EH activity. We have a comp for SP, MP,
recruiting and two for GFX submissions, so noone really has an excuse for not
doing something. We've also got the fleet-wide IWATS incentive competition...so
everything is covered. So please, at least try and complete one battle, a couple
of MP matches or some IWATS/GFX a week....all the competitions are there, you
just need to participate. If you have any ideas and/or suggestions in regards to
competitions, by all means email Ambar and myself with them and we will see if
we can use them for the benefit of the ship.
-
Recruiting: Yup, this will stay in my weekly reports until we
start getting some! As I've said every report, when/if you get the time try and
recruit through forums, MP gaming on BSC etc or you can always use the
tried and true routes of offering help to cadets and trying to coax RSV's outta
retirement. We need active new or returning members to boost our numbers and
help us to remain in our rightful place as biggest and best ship in the
ASF!
- Departing member: As yet, due to the TC
website being down, I dont know if this has happened, but I'd like to
congratulate LT Blackrage on his acceptance into Avenger Squadron. Late last
week I got an email from Nightmare, CMDR of Avenger with an offer of a spot in
Avenger for Blackrage. Now, if your a diehard MPer in the ASF and you get an
offer to join Avenger, you hardly ever say no...so off Blacky goes! As much as
it is disappointing to see such an active and dedicated member of the wing
leave, far be it for us to stifle his career by denying him such a chance.
Congrats and good luck Lieutenant, and dont forget us when your looking for your
first command! ;)
- MSEs: The end of the month is next
Tuesday, and as such MSE's will be due. So I thought I'd give you CMDRs (and you
Ambar :P) an early reminder that your monthly reports are due by next Friday,
the 3rd of June. This is as per VA Gidda's request from his first report as
BGCOM. He wants the complete Monthly Evaluations on his desk by the end of the
first week of each month, so start preparing those MSEs!
