Wing III Wing Report for October 27th through November 2nd, 2003.
Hey everyone! Time for another Wing Report! Nothing too eventful happened this week, other than say, stomping the TCBGs in IS IV. I'm still pretty pumped about that...>:)
WING NEWS

Hmm, a fairly quiet, but productive week. I've been busy looking over applications for one of the CMDR positions that are open, made recommendations for the other. Also made a few BSFs. How I've missed that...:)
CM Ryan Chi'Cath and I flew for the IS IV battle that occurred yesterday after the TIE Corps meeting. I only flew TIE, since I don't have XvT. Great work, Ryan on flying both missions.
CM Derek Klivian has been promoted to Hey Squadron CMDR and from LT to CM. Congrats Hobbie! Condolences too. Since you've skipped one promo (LT to LCM), you'll have to buy double the drinks! Ash had to do that too, so don't feel too bad. :)
Hey Squadron has a new pilot, welcome to SL Hendo! I hope you'll enjoy your time in Hey and Wing III. Don't be too afraid of the big, bad WC. Be terrified! ;)
SSSD Sovereign vs. the combined forces of the Intrepid and Vanguard!
That's right, the Sov is taking on our sister ships in a TIE, XvT and XWA
furball! It's called the 2003 Beer Cup:

Start Date (mm/dd/yy) 11/1/2003
End Date (mm/dd/yy) 11/30/2003
Parties Involved Intrepid, Vanguard and Sovereign
Missions/Battles Used One each TIE, XWA and XvT battles, to be selected
by the three COMs.
Medals to be Awarded IS-GW, IS-SW and IS-BW to the top three pilots on
each side, in each division. It's the Sov vs. the Intrepid and the
Vanguard.
Miscellaneous Information
-- Sov vs. Vanguard and Intrepid in TIE, XvT and XWA single-player
battles.
-- Top 30 pilot files on each side count toward the results in each
division. Overall score of these top 30 scores per division determines
the winner(s). Note: XvT division is Top 15 files.
-- TIE scoring is laserless.
-- Time of the comp: Nov. 1 through Nov. 30.
-- Medals: The usual, IS-GW, IS-SW, IS-BW to top three in each division
on each side.

TIE Fighter Ship Patch Released!

Today saw the release of the "Emperor's Hammer Ship Patch" for TIE fighter '95.
This patch adds the Shipyard, Repairyard, Medium Transport, Communications Relay, Sensor Array, Astromech, Gunplatform, Large Gunplatform, Laser Battery, Super Star Destroyer and Pilot to TIE95. It fixes the bug in TIE Fighter that keeps Imperial Star Destroyers from firing their lasers.
The patch can be installed together with other patches and kept installed permanently as it does not replace any existing Craft.
This patch replaces the earlier "ISD Lasers Patch" for TC flying. Go check it out on the Patch Archive.
Design The XO Site Competition

The current XO site isn't very good and hasn't been updated for a while. By the nature of the office, the XO site should be a nexus for some very important information within the EH. To address this, I'll need a new design, as the current one (at http://www.emperorshammer.net/xo/) is pretty basic.
The basis of the competition will be to design a "template" for the site, which should include graphics, menu elements, etc. The menu items on the current site can be used as a guide for the template. Everything else is left to your creative whims. Final submissions can either be hosted online, with the URL emailed to me, or the files themselves can be emailed to me. Submissions close on 30th November. The competition is open to all EH members. First place gets an Iron Star Gold Ribbon (or subgroup equivilant). Second and third, if up to scratch, will get a Iron Star Silver Ribbon and Iron Star Bronze Ribbon respectively. Submissions should be sent to xo@emperorshammer.org with the subject of "I have l33t w3b skillz".
IWCOM open for applications

Overview
The position of Infiltrator Wing Commander (IWCOM) involves the day-to-day operations and oversight of the subgroup, as well as development, implementation and followthrough of competitions and other activities for the entire subgroup. Appointment and review of IW command staff are also key duties for this position.
Selection Criteria - Essential
1. Good written communication skills.
2. An acceptable level of presence in online media such as IRC, message boards, etc.
3. Fast email response time.
4. The ability to work with a range of EH personnel, including the Executive Officer.
5. Experience at some level of command, preferably at least at TIE Corps Wing Commander or equivilant.
Selection Criteria - Desirable
1. Proven evidence of exceptional performance in a command position
2. Prior experience in the Infilrator Wing.
You must address each criteria with supporting evidence. Simply saying "Yes, I can do that" will not be enough. Outline examples of experience and situations for each point. You should meet at least the essential criteria to be considered for the position. You will be expected to perform the core duties as listed and if you are unwilling to perform them, don't bother applying. You must include at least three (3) references in your application. At least one must be a current or former superior (preferably current). Ensure you have their permission first. If it is found out that you have used someone's name without their permission, your application will be disqualified. Applications should be directed to the Fleet Commander (fc@emperorshammer.org) and Executive Officer (xo@emperorshammer.org) with the subject "Application for IWCOM".

Flew for the TIE mission assigned for the pre-skirmish for IS IV yesterday. Had some extremely strange video card related problems with TIE95...
Taking care of business, sending e-mail, reading apps, making a few recommendations.
Slept through today's Wing Meeting. Woke up early (6:30a.m. my time), knocked around for a while and took a nap from 8a.m. to almost 2p.m. Us old farts need our sleep...:P

Write fiction, create graphics! I'm actually toying with some writing myself again. Reading my own writing just seems silly. Give me something to read!

Well, the end of this week was kinda interesting. Went out Thursday, as usual. Lots of costumes out that night. Couple of girls dressed as medical professionals ("Hello Nurse!" and "If you were my doctor, I'd never get well."). I'm an officer, I'm just not a gentleman. :P My roommate stayed fairly sober, kind of disappointing, thought I was teaching him better than that. Oh well, I got plowed, can't complain too much.
I went as white trash or Wolverine. Grew my sideburns out again, though they're still frickin' RED! Grah, so I was born a redhead, my hair's brown now, has been for probably fourteen years now, not dyed either. Yup, I'm a goofy lookin' hairball. Now you all see why I never put my picture on the Hey Squadron Website. I don't want to scare young children or old people.
