Wing XIV weekly report #7
COL Gidda, 11/01/2003

- WING NEWS -

Hello Pilots,
I hope you all had a good Halloween party because now it's time to fly
and kick some butts. The ISD Intrepid and the ISD Vanguard will fight together against the SSSD Sovereign in a competition called the Beer Cup! The competition starts today and will run until the end of the month, battles to fly are TIE-TC 211, XvT-TC 75 and XWA-TC 24. Please note that top three pilots in each division will receive IS-GW, IS-SW and IS-BW medals!

For all the MP lovers the Intrepid Realistic Combat competition is still running. Squadron Commanders must create the Co-Op Teams for their Squadron (either two or three pilots in every team), the Teams then have to set a day and hour to fly XvT Free #73 online in Co-Op mode. This means that you won't be flying against other human pilots but you will be on the same side and you will fight together against the AI. I've tried this several times and I assure you that it's very fun!

Updates on the Wing holonet (aka yahoo group :p) are finally over. I'm sorry if it took so long but I didn't know that silly yahoo allowed to add only 10 new addies per day! Anyway, the mailing list is fully operational now so you all can start using it again by sending messages to wing14@yahoogroups.com

I haven't seen much medals during the past week, actually only two LoCs were awarded to CM Machinari. However you can be sure that we will return to our usual standards as soon as I will receive all MSEs and I'll recommend activity medals for the month of October. Unfortunately we also lost two pilots, LT TK-7195 has been AWOLed and LCM Lonestar transferred to Avenger Elite Squadron, best of luck to him for his l33t career.

During the past week there was a good SP activity level and the most active pilots were CPT SavageAz, CPT CrimsonFury, CM Sabbath and LCM Starburst. I'd like too see everyone completing one or two battles per week, that's enough to receive a nice award at the end of the month and most of the missions in the EH Battle Archive can be completed in few minutes. Of course the more you fly, the higher the award will be and remember that if you do nothing I can't promote or reward you :-)

That is all for this week, now go fly for the Beer Cup and the Intrepid Realistic Combat!

TIE Fighter Ship Patch Released!
08:26 - AD Ender mBind [mindb_ender@hotmail.com]
Today saw the release of the "Emperor's Hammer Ship Patch" for TIE fighter '95.
This patch adds the Shipyard, Repairyard, Medium Transport, Communications Relay, Sensor Array, Astromech, Gunplatform, Large Gunplatform, Laser Battery, Super Star Destroyer and Pilot to TIE95. It fixes the bug in TIE Fighter that keeps Imperial Star Destroyers from firing their lasers.
The patch can be installed together with other patches and kept installed permanently as it does not replace any existing Craft.
This patch replaces the earlier "ISD Lasers Patch" for TC flying. Go check it out on the Patch Archive.

  • TIE-TC #213-215
  • TIE-FREE #238
Enjoy.

- COMPETITIONS REPORT -

Intrepid Combat Patrol:
Start Date: 10/27/2003
End Date: 11/09/2003

Mission Used: XvT Free #73

Medals to be awarded: IS-SW to all members of winning Team, IS-BW to all members of 2nd Team.

Details:
Fly XvTF-73 in Co-Op mode, it's up to CMDRs whether to stick to Flights roster or create mixed Teams (i.e. 1 pilot from Flight I and 2 pilots from Flight III) but each Team must have either 2 or 3 pilots (for obvious reasons 1 pilot Teams aren't allowed!). Once a Team has completed the mission ALL pilots of that Team must send me their ZIPPED pilot file and a screenshot showing the mission scores. The total score of a squadron will be calculated summing the Teams score.

Medals: The usual, IS-GW, IS-SW, IS-BW to top three in each division on each side. If you can only fly one or two battles, its fine! Just fly as many of them as you can!
