Another RPG game that is unnamed!!! This one is a bit different though, as it is tipped to be one of the biggest online-only games around. It’s to be developed by Everquest creators, Verant, published by LucasArts and will be using Sony Online Entertainment for servers to play the game on.

Star Wars Online is to be released at the end of next year, and will be set in the times of the Classic (some would say only) Star Wars Trilogy. Players would start off on two planets, which are split into 50 zones, and would go about their business with the Rebellion going on around them. While you can’t play as main characters, it is proposed that you will get the chance to meet them (you could chat up Leia!!!).

There are quite a few player classes for you to become, such as traders and bounty hunters, although it is unknown if you can join the Rebellion or the Empire. Whoever you become, the game will have to be played on the Sony Online Entertainment servers (http://station.sony.com)  , so expect to pay more money monthly on top of the full game price.

It is rumoured that if done right, this game will become the ULTIMATE Star Wars game, so expect lots of other players to play alongside (or against) you. As for all online games, the only way we know if it’s going to be any good is by how large the fan-base is.
