<Werdna_LB> so, have you settled into your job of FO well?
<Sarriss> I'd say
<Sarriss> The fleet hasn't ground to a halt, so that's a good sign :-P
<Werdna_LB> but are you finding the work easy to cope with?
<Sarriss> ummm, yes and no
<Sarriss> It's easy enough to do
<Sarriss> but the volume of it is staggering sometimes
<Werdna_LB> no that the change of FO has settled down, will you be working on any new ideas of projects that will make the TC better?
<Sarriss> well, that's started already with the Think Tank
<Sarriss> Yes, I know that everyone (including me) has been spammed to oblivion
<Werdna_LB> wasn't the Think Tank already ready to go before you became FO?
<Sarriss> but that is intended to be the forum for discussion of new ideas and policies
<Sarriss> no, NH and I hadn't had time to get down to activating it, although I do admit that I liked the idea, and that's why it was implemented
<Werdna_LB> do you have any ideas that you have cooked up yourself?
<Sarriss> I have one or two things, but I'm waiting to see how some others pan out first... I'm not giving out all my secrets here >:-P

<Werdna_LB> A lot of people want your job, and a lot of people certainly tried to get it...
<Werdna_LB> ...what qualities do you think you had that made you get the job a head of the others?
<Sarriss> hmmmm
<Sarriss> I'm not really sure, you'd have to ask Ronin and Compton
<Werdna_LB> did you not have to send an application with such things on?
<Sarriss> I guess it was my good looks :-P
<Sarriss> yes, and a "test" of sorts :-P
<Werdna_LB> a test?
<Werdna_LB> what kind of test?
<Sarriss> yes, the 3 final candidates had a bunch of questions that they had to answer
<Sarriss> hypothetical situations, etc
<Werdna_LB> what types of situation?
<Sarriss> oh
<Sarriss> for example, promotion of a WC to LC... exactly when he/she is eligible if he/she had been MAJ before getting WC...
<Sarriss> that sort of thing
<Werdna_LB> but we have strayed from the original question...why were you the best person for the job?
<Sarriss> hehe
<Werdna_LB> well?
<Sarriss> well, I guess I gave really good answers, and a slightly better idea than most of what the job entailed, and really good references :-P
<Werdna_LB> you were a CMDR and a CA:FO before you became FO, right?
<Sarriss> yes
<Werdna_LB> do you not think that it's a bit strange for a CMDR to jump so fast to Flight Ofiicer?
<Sarriss> well, yes
<Sarriss> but I wasn't planning on it happening that way :-P
<Werdna_LB> so surely there must have been something the FC and XO saw in you, what do you think that could have been?
<Sarriss> my charm? my wit? :-P seriously though, I guess it was the fact that I really put some serious thought into my answers of the "test", because that is how the final choice was made
<Werdna_LB> okay, enough about why you're sooo good, lets move onto something else...

<Werdna_LB> ...what art have you made in the EH?
<Sarriss> but yes, I do enjoy making graphics
<Sarriss> ummm, the Graphics course website artwork, with thanks to SWMA
<Sarriss> The EH strategists banner
<Sarriss> and various Alpha Squadron banners
<Werdna_LB> which piece of art are you the most proud of?
<Sarriss> I also posted the first official squadron patch for Alpha
<Sarriss> probably the squadron patch
<Werdna_LB> do you plan on making any more graphics courses?
<Sarriss> It kinda set the standard for everyone else
<Werdna_LB> like an advanced course?
<Sarriss> Ummm, I'm toying with a few ideas, possibly an animated gif course, and maybe a Flash course
<Sarriss> but it depends on when I can get free time
<Sarriss> I do have an RL job you know
<Werdna_LB> do you? what is it?

<Werdna_LB> you mean you get to control the spotlights and microphones?
<Sarriss> it's a bit more involved than that, but yeah, that's what I do
<Werdna_LB> I like doing that to jobs...

<Werdna_LB> Back to the questions though...how much does the Think Tank influence your decisions for the TC?
<Sarriss> a fair amount... I don't want to make a decision that no one else thinks will work
<Werdna_LB> you're obviously on the mailing list to be able to read the opinions...
<Sarriss> case in point... TC/NC merger
<Sarriss> yep
<Werdna_LB> ...but you don't say anything...
<Werdna_LB> ...why is that?
<Sarriss> because I want other peoples opinions, not them repeating my own to me >:-P
<Werdna_LB> so you don't say anything because of your position
<Sarriss> pretty much
<Werdna_LB> but what if someone had an idea of something that just wouldn't work, and a lot of people agreed, would you put your opinion on then?
<Sarriss> maybe, it depends on what the idea is
<Werdna_LB> as you mentioned before, the Think Tank helped you with the merging of the TC and NC...
<Sarriss> no...
<Sarriss> The TC and NC aren't merged
<Werdna_LB> well...the plans of the merger then
<Sarriss> but it helped to see more than one side of the argument
<Werdna_LB> ...when will this merger happen then?
<Sarriss> It might not
<Werdna_LB> oh...I thought that it was 'full steam ahead'
<Sarriss> I'm waiting to see how the wargames turn out
<Sarriss> The merger might not be necessary
<Werdna_LB> if it did happen though, how would the merger be done?
<Sarriss> I can't really say at this point, a lot will depend on HA Kawolski
<Werdna_LB> why does it depend on HA Kawolski?
<Sarriss> well, the database re-structuring and stuff
<Sarriss> that's a big job
<Werdna_LB> does he see any problems with the future restructuring?
<Sarriss> not at all, he's all for it
<Sarriss> BUT, as I said, it may not be necessary
<Werdna_LB> oh, right...but I meant the restructuring of the database :o)
<Sarriss> we haven't discussed that far >:-P
<Werdna_LB> are there any big competitions for the TC in the pipeline?
<Werdna_LB> like Imp storm 2, fleet-wide comps, etc
<Sarriss> well, there's Imp Storm II, but the TAC office is most likely going to run that
<Werdna_LB> are there no fleet-wide competitions coming up?
<Sarriss> not at the moment no, there are far too many little ones at the moment
<Sarriss> There is AcePilot's one, if the TO approves it
<Sarriss> but maybe when Sov League is done
<Sarriss> the FO will run one
<Werdna_LB> Out of all the tasks you do as FO, what is your favourite?
<Sarriss> putting CT's into the fleet :-)
<Werdna_LB> that was a fast answer!!!

<Sarriss> well, you've seen them through the training process, and now they go off to be good little Imperial pilots, just as I once did

<Werdna_LB> ...and you have to pick about half a dozen members of the EH to go with you...
