He’s Talking Nonsense

I am still so very sorry about the awful title of my column. It's nowhere near as good as the title that I thought up for Troutrooper...but it's easier for him!!! His name includes Trout...fish...The Talking Fish. If anyone can work out someone clever using "Elbee", please send it in to the usual address.

Multiplayer Gaming in the EH...Improves!!! YEY!!!

After stating the god awful state that multiplayer gaming is in the EH, I felt a bit of a prat when I noticed people starting to attend the competitions more. Perhaps it was a very long holiday break...but things have started to improve a little.

Of course, I can only talk about playing XWA competition because I don't own XvT, but the numbers for the regular EH competitions are going up. There are now about a half-dozen pilots attending competitions like Zone Sunday and Kampfergemetzel (I can spell that now!), which is up from zero pilots a few weeks ago. Also you can see by the feature of the WoWs for XWA and XvT, there are still people flying for us. I really want to see the numbers improve even more though, because I selfishly want to play different people every week.

The greatest new is...the Outer Rim Night is back!!! Bigger and Better!!!

Well, it's the Outer Rim War, as it's on nearly all day now. We'll forget about the problems we had with the RS about the Outer Rim lately (essentially, they stole the Outer Rim from us so they could run the competition. Ronin made it, but the RS took it). I am willing to forget as they have made a very, VERY good setup for a competition out of it. There are now other clubs involved (EH, RS, Star Vipers, Vast Empire, Last Starfighter League and New Republic) fighting for systems and planets in the Outer Rim.

To get a real understanding of the competition, I suggest you go to it's website at http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/outerrim/. You also need to sign up for the competition to get a Outer Rim Pin No. The one you use for the EH is useless in this competition, as the other clubs have their own number systems and there would be confusion. You can sign up by going to the above website, selecting LOGIN, and fill in your details under "Get Account." You Pin No will be e-mailed to you, and you have to use that in your reports of games.

As stated in the TC Combat Chamber, the competition is on every Saturday. It starts at 2pm EST and ends at 11pm EST (7pm-4am GMT). You can play XvT, XWA and JK at the competition. All the rules are stated at the main Outer Rim War website that I mentioned before.

Top 5 Cool Things This Month

5. Dum Dums - Staying at number 5 this month is the wonderful Dum Dums album, It Goes Without Saying. I highly suggest everyone get the album or at least download the odd track via Napster. Most of the songs are jumpy, fun and well performed. The res are a bit slower, but delightful.

4. Buffy & Angel - New series is now on in Britain!!! Perhaps these new ones aren't as good as Buffy season 3 (it's peak), but at least it allows my threesome fantasy with Willow and Tara out for another airing.

3. Multiplayer XWA - Still great fun. I've now had a bit more practice so I now win just as many games as I loose. I was on a pretty good winning streak until I crossed with VA Adrenaline. btw, Adren is a very cool in my books too, after mentioning something about the "badness" that happened with the Flying Contests to someone who could help lots! That someone else is cool too, but I'll mention them next month.

2. The Beetles - They are the best! I just got the album "1", which is pure class all the way though. "NAH...NAH NAH...NA NA NA NAH...HEY JUDE!!!"

1. College - Not really...I just pretend to myself that going back to College will be fun so I don't feel as bad. I'd rather stay on my holidays, but at least I'll see some of my friends again :o)

Crap things this month - Snow!!!...it wrecked my holiday season; the Operations Office (no offence, but I'm mildly annoyed); a particular high-ranking member of the DB; Astatine's regular "subtle" hints in IRC for an interview in Battlecry. For Gods sake, man...next month!!! :o)
