MONTH IN
REVIEW
A lot has happened
this month. It seems that we've survived the worst of the school-related
resignations. There has been a few changes to the command officers including LC
Daala being promoted to CO. A new staff position has been created, R&D
officer. Both company commanders are new. In contrast, however, to the theme of
new things, Operation: White Storm has finished. Field Marshal Tarkin deserves a
pat on the back for his work.

GENERAL STAFF REPORTS
The Hammer's Fist General
Staff takes care of all the details of operating the Legion. They determine
Legion policy, ranks, web pages, standards of participation, and keep the Legion
up to date on current affairs. Without their leadership capability, the Legion
would collapse. Each Legionnaire, they make a report on their operations over
the year.

Operation White Storm closes today. This mission has
been the main focus of the Hammer's Fist over the last two months and has
certainly kept me incredibly busy. Everyone participating in the mission has at
least another week to forward any out standing submission they may wish to make
before scores are finalized and winners announced. Watch out for the special
release newsletter, documenting the event and including all member submissions,
to be released some time towards the second half of October.
If you're
interested to know more about White Storm then visit the web site
at:

Personally
I'd like to thank everyone who took part in the mission. It's been one of the
most successful HF missions I've personally been involved with to
date.
News for the Month...
HF/TC Exchange proposal being developed...
http:www.geocities.com/Area51/Shire/6712/HF-TC.htm
This
proposal involves a platoon of HF stormtroopers being posted to TC ships in
exchange for two squadrons of TC pilots being posted to the HF's platform
Declaration. Activities for both groups are being developed to make the
experience significantly different from their usual duties. For more information
visit the web site above.
GS refocus, tweaking and
restructure...
It is my intention to give the Hammer's Fist the best
opportunity to be one of the best sub groups of the EH. To that end I am
carefully watching the performance of those on my general staff to ensure they
are putting in the very best effort they can. Presently this hasn't been the
case so I have been taking a slightly harder line with those not performing up
to scratch.
A couple of changes have taken place so far. Commander of
Operations, MG Assassin was repositioned as our Research and Development
Officer. In this position he will continue the work he has been doing to convert
various game platforms to a Star Wars 'friendly' environment as well as continue
to maintain the R&D department which he founded.
Taking Assassin's
place as Commander of Operations is former Dragoons Commander LC Daala. Her
previous position has been dissolved with responsibility for the Dragoons and
the Platoon League now falling directly under the duties of the Commander of
Operations.
Other areas being looked at will include getting all HF
Manuals and other documentation completely up to date as well as reviewing
various CSMA courses and seeing how they could be
improved.
That's it for this month until next time,
Thanks
for your support.

COMMANDER, PERSONNEL REPORT
High General Trhin Fugazi
September 23,
1999
I may have been a little optimistic in the last newsletter... after
signing up new recruits left and right during the summer enlistment has
currently leveled off. Actually, the recruits are still coming in, they're just
not graduating from the Academy on Carrida II. Hopefully this is a temporary
problem that will be taken care of shortly and we can get back to business as
usual.
The Legion medal board is in the last stages of development. LG
Kryder posted a beta version of it last weekend and it looks very slick. The
Database allows surfers to search using any number of keywords to find what they
are looking for. Our long range plans for this project include a full listing of
HF personnel (medals, bio, interests... you name it, it will hopefully be
included.)
The TC/HF exchange proposal is coming along nicely... barring
any last minute disasters I expect to see it implemented by the end of the month
(cross your fingers). On the Personnel side of the proposal, issues that need to
be taken care of include the appointment of a new Liaison Officer and making
sure that the chain of command stays intact. For an overview of this project
visit this site - http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shire/6712/HF-TC.htm
Three weeks ago the Personnel Office distributed an "Activity Level
Questionnaire" to the troops of the Legion. After a promising beginning the
responses have slowed to a disappointing trickle (whether this is due to breaks
in the chain of command, lack of interest, whatever...). Following is a list of
the troopers who have currently submitted their results to me:
Ironfist,
Andronicus, Hairyarmadillo, Outlaw, Farseer, Chavez, Data, Ares, Zanar, Coolguy,
Spazninmov, Vladkov.
Unless I am mistaken...other than Data and Ares,
there are no responses from Company "A" at all.
Anyone interested in
filling out a questionnaire and getting it in to me is welcome to do so. Check
out this site for the questions. http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shire/6712/questionnaire.htm(E-mail
them to me at mailto:%20fugazi_m@yahoo.com).
I
have also recently implemented an enlistment follow-up procedure. The Personnel
Office will be mailing troops one week after their date of enlistment (if they
have not already graduated) to see if we can be of any assistance to the new
trooper in any way. Hopefully, this extra effort may net in a few more troopers
for the HF to call our own.
In closing I would like to announce some
recent changes in the HF command structure and share some stats with
you...
Daala - promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and the position of
Commander, Operations (GS-4). She has appointed Captain Thanatos as her
assistant.
Major General Assassin has accepted a Staff Officer posting
(Research and Development Officer) that will allow him to concentrate on those
aspects of his former position. Ironfist has moved from PC of Wrath to take
command of "B" Company, taking his place as PC is 2LT Vladkov.
The
Personnel Office has enlisted a total of 23 troopers since August 9, 1999. Since
that date the HF has accepted the services of 8 graduates from the CSMA. The
main Legion roster count now stands at a total of 66
members.
Respectfully submitted,

COMMANDER, OPERATIONS REPORT
Lieutenant Colonel Daala
Here
is my report...
As the newly appointed CO, I hope to have new &
interesting operations, and to increase overall activity in the HF.
The
Platoon League is doing very well. A lot of people are participating by posting
messages on the MB's, which is good. I am currently looking into a competition
between the HF & the RSCD; hopefully, if it goes through, it will be
sometime in October. I'm looking into the messageboard games that Talon Zanar
suggested on one of the HF MB's, and I'm looking forward to when the HF will go
up against the HB.

COMMANDER, TRAINING REPORT
Colonel Marenta
CSMA Submission:
An absolute turbulent time within the CSMA. Wars waging across
battlefields as finite as a micrometre and as garganchuan as the leaning tower.
The new SSBTC is due out some time in October. Look for it soon. The new
CSMA page is being created, wait for that sometime in the near future.
A lot
of people can't get the CSMA site to work, so, if you have any problems, go
here: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Hotel/4105/ssbtc.zip
it'll get you the old test with everything included.
That's all from the
CSMA.

ALPHA COMPANY REPORT
Captain Ares
It has been an
interesting month for Alpha Company. Maj Daala began the
month as its CCo,
and I took command of it in mid-August. I inherited the Alpha site, and although
I had not done anything with it up to now, that will change in the coming month.
It will be both expanded and slimmed down, growing in new directions while
cutting out dead portions.
The Vendetta platoon has also undergone change.
2LT Nylad was my
successor and has been finding his place as PC. Before I
left the platoon, I had run a platoon-level competition called Historic
Maneuvers. Its goal was to produce a history for the platoon. I was promoted
before the competition was finished. A combination of that and getting very busy
prevented me from adding the histories to the platoon site until the 25th of
September, a month after the competition had closed. Now Vendetta does have a
history, and all runner-ups are also there for viewing. Special thanks goes out
to MAJ Vradin Jonusk, 2LT Data, LTC Daala, and CPT Ironfist for assisting in the
judging.
The Vendetta site has moved twice in the last month, bouncing
across
servers, but as the saying goes, there's no place like home, and the
site is back where it began. While I may be hosting it, it's PC is still
responsible for its upkeep and correctness. I have not decided on whether to
move the Alpha company site to my own server or not.
The Big Event this
month: Operation: White Storm. Alpha Company is
doing admirably well in this
effort, with Vengeance taking a commanding
position. I have participated only
lightly in the Operation, due to other commitments, but I hope to more fully
participate in future operations and set an example for the company (as some
troopers have done already).
I have my hands in many projects, both in the HF
and in the EH At Large. HF projects I've been proud to be a part of include
Historic Maneuvers, many a website, projects both large and small for the Design
Office, and the Masterlinks Project. I have a few HF projects in the works right
now, including the reinstitution the old Operation Patch system. Some may have
noticed the Dar'Telis patch on the Prefect's dress uniform. Maybe you want one.
Well, they're coming back! Everyone actively participating in Operation: White
Storm will receive an OWS patch. Patches for back operations will also be made.
Future projects include...who knows?

BRAVO COMPANY REPORT
Captain Ironfist
I was
promoted only 2 weeks before the end of the month, so I really hadn't a chance
to do something.
But, I've succeeded in a small JK only competition
against other club. I was able to provoke a little conflict in a Alpha vs Bravo,
with JK games to spice things up.
The Bravo site is being done, and as
soon it is released, you will know. I've opened an office, to help the Company,
and done the usual stuff, get rid of AWOLs and such.
For the next month I
intend to organize more JK games, inter-club competitions, improve the pride of
the troopers in their units and prepare them to defeat against RS and other
Rebel factions.
To fulfill this objectives I will rely in the Bravo
platoons, but also in all other players of the Hammer's Fist.
So, that's
about all. A little short, but I am preparing some new things to keep the
activity level up.

Charge!
By
Captain Ironfist
The transporter landed in a platform near the HQ.
Troopers were guarding the landing bay. Their armors were marked by the long
war. A Sargent told us to go to room 14. Some minutes later we arrived. It was a
desolated room, with nothing more than a table with holomaps and a blaster. A
Captain was standing near the table.
- 3SG Ironfist and Squad 2 reporting
in, sir.
- The new guys, humm?
- I suppose we are so, sir.
- This is
battle front since the old republic and many of our men don't see the end of it.
Go to position 53 Beta. You will reinforce a artillery battery.
-Yes sir.
We went to the position and we sow the worst battle position ever made by
man. The Cannons were from the Rebels, and the date was not clear. And bayonets
were given to us. Bayonets??! We use bayonets? We entered the bunker and
reported in. Orders were given: destroy as much as you can. The artillery man
started the show. After one half hour a bright light entered in the darkness of
our cave. The Rebels had destroyed our cannons.
- Alarm!!!! Send this
message: Code Victor Bravo Charlie. We are under heavy fire, send backups.
Suddenly all stopped. We went outside and we sow nothing. Not a single proof
that there was someone there before the bombardment. I climbed to the top of the
recks and observed movement. Many soldiers were attacking us. A blaster shot
missed me by a inch. I went to the base of the holes and organized the defense.
The situation was dramatic. And got worst, the blasters were almost empty.
-
Ok, we have to do this the ward way. Men, BAYONETS!!!- All the Troopers turn to
Ironfist.
-YES SIR!!!!!!
-Hide in the holes. They don't know we are
here. It will be like a surprise party.
-Sir, we are ready.
-Steady,
steady, get ready, UP!! Fire at will.
The surprised Rebels didn't had time
to make a move, 10 sec's later the first wave were lying in the ground. But more
Rebels were coming. Then Ironfist gave an order that saved his men's lives.
-Charge!!!!!
The brave Stormtroopers jumped to a hand-to-hand fight.
Armed with bayonets at the end of their blasters, they got the lead of the
fight. The Troopers picked up the fallen enemies weapons and shot the rest of
the Rebels. But the enemy was also shooting and some of ours fall. At the end
only the ones with the Empire on their hearts were standing. Tie Crawlers and a
Company appeared, but there was little to them to do. Just take care of the
injured, and bury the dead.
Again the Empire achieved victory, due to the
bravery of the Stormtropers.
Long live the Empire.
Long live Emperor's
Hammer.
Long live Hammer's Fist.
Hostages
By Captain
Ironfist
The red light apeared in the quarters of 2LT Ironfist.
His unit was need once more. He headed to the Comm room and asked what was the
problem this time. His CO started the briefing:
-Some Rebel Commandos
infiltrated in the city. They were fond and hunted. But 5 escaped and took a
house by force. Your mission is to capture or kill these Rebels. Capture them if
you can...
-But can't the local garrison storm the building?
-No, they
have hostages. The family that owns the house was inside... 4 persons, 2 adults
and 2 children. We thought that they would give up, but they took the house at
more then 9 hours now.. And they still don't want to get out.
-What is the
house configuration?
-One way in and out, no windows, one floor, 6 divisions
inside. They probably keep 2 guards near the hostages and the rest at the
door.
-Ok sir, I will make sure the family is not injured. Permission to take
2 AT-STs.
-To the center of the city??? Are you mad??
-I don't intend to
blast them way. Just for the psychological effect...
-Psychological effect..
I know what you want.. You what to blast them away! Well, it will take longer to
get there, but you can send them by the main lane. What are you waiting for?
GO!
-Yes sir!
When the platoon arrived the entrance was in sight of a
couple of troopers. A Sargent was standing in the middle of the street, yelling
at the rebels:
-We don't want any more deaths. Step out of the house with
your hands on the air. You will not be shoot down!
The door opened a bit, the
crowd outside started mumbling about their capture, but the response was given
by the mouth of a blaster.
Ironfist got near the Sargent:
-Are you the man
in charge?
-Yes sir! My unit was the first to arrive. By the marks on your
armor I see you are a tanks unit. What are you doing here?
-Well, Azrael was
on field exercises, so we had to come.
-I heard a lot about your unit sir. I
relieve myself from the command of this operation. What do we do sir?
-Ok
then, what is the situation?
-Well, they don't what to surrender. I've asked
them many times. Well, I have to say that, I don't what them too anyway...
As
many Stormtroopers, this Sargent joined the Legions because his wife was raped
and killed by the rebels at his own house. He came from an outer rim world, and
there the outlaws were the law. He joined a cargo ship and went directly to
Carrida.
At this time many civilians were watching the operation. Some even
brought food and water to the troopers. They had only one thing in mind, the
Rebels would lose their lives here. If the Stormtroopers didn't do that, they
would.
Suddenly the AT-STs arrived. The population present started cheering
and applauding!
-Go! Kill those bastards!
-Yes! Finally! Long Live the
Empire!
-Go get them boys!
Ironfist entered one of the AT-STs.
-What
took you so long?
-You know, traffic.. Try to walk one of these things in an
city street. If you saw the faces of the people in a couple of speeder we met!
-Ok, I see... Well, shoot a couple of rounds to the ground in front of the
house.
After the shots, Ironfist grabbed the speaker:
-Surrender
yourselves! I will destroy this that block if I need to!
After that he heard
fighting in the house. A Rebel came out with his arms in the air yelling: "I
surrender! Don't ki.." A shoot was heard and the rebel fall. The PC asked: "Were
did that shot came from! Did I tell anyone to shoot!" He got out of the vehicle
and the Sargent told him:
-They did it!
-Who did? They who?
-The
rebels, they shot their own soldier. He was shot in the back!
-All troopers,
go in side. Before they could do something, more shots were fired inside. The
Stormtroopers when inside and all when silent. They saw the rebels dead, and the
hostages trembling with fear. The children were crying and the adults
yelling.
-What happened in here? Have you done this?
-No. They started
fighting, punching and kicking. One got out, and other got his blaster and shot
him. After that they were all shooting each others...
I don't believe in
this...
Wrath Platoon
By Captain
Ironfist
Wrath
Platoon origins take us back to the Clones War. In those times, Wrath was the
52nd platoon of the 353rd Legion that was trained and equipped secretly. It was
going to be used as a reserve platoon, just in case things didn't worked as
expected.
The platoon saw no
action. During the Old Republic it continued to be a top secret subject. They
continued to indoctrinate recruits, train, and equip them with the best weaponry
available. They had to face the worst conditions. It was then that the Rebel
Alliance was born. Knowing that the 52nd Platoon would gave them the advantage
needed to overthrow the Emperor, they traveled to their barracks and offered
them "a chance to end this bloody government". Of course none accepted it and
they would have to notify their CO of this plan. The rebels left the building,
and all hell broke loose.
Shots come from all sides,
thermal detonators and missiles hit the building. Inside, some panicked. They
didn't have weapons there, and so ran to the door, jumped to freedom and fell
under Rebel fire. Others knew that if they stayed in the barracks they would
have a hope of surviving. The barracks stood up for some time, but the fire was
just too intense. The walls cracked.
The surviving troopers had
to cover themselves with the bodies of theirs friends, their roommates, theirs
buddies. About half an hour later the rebels stopped firing, and approached the
burning ruins. They thought that none could have survived the onslaught.
But a white glove stood out
of the wrecks, and then another, and another. From an entire platoon, only 3
survived...
The troopers
went to the bay docks, and took a ship to Coruscant. The general went horror and
informed the Emperor. He said that it would be taken care of. During the war,
the 3 last Stormtroopers were sent to a camp, to train troopers to from the
52nd. It was a intensive and extremely difficult training, and by the time they
were ready, the Empire had fallen. With little hope, they joined a ship that was
going to merge with Emperor's Hammer. There the troopers chose Wrath as their
name, because their wrath will be felt by all that oppose them.
Killer
Monkeys
By Private Lander
I woke up lying in a bed in the infirmary.
My head was killing me, I must have had more to drink then I remembered.
Ironfist was standing over me.
"What happened last night?" he asked me. "I
want to know why two of my troops are dead."
It had all started earlier. I
was on leave on the Carrida central city in a cantina. I intended to get drunk
out of my mind. I had succeeded by the time my intercom beeped. I answered it.
It was my squad leader Shiatsu.
"Lander, where are you?" He asked.
"I'm in
the cantina on Ark Street." I told him. "You know the place."
"Good" He
replied, "then you're near me. I'm just two blocks south of you at the hotel
Condessa. There's a whole bunch of these animal things attacking the guest. Get
your **** down here and help us. I'm gonna see who else I can get for
help."
"But I don't have any of my equipment. I can't help. I'm on
leave."
"Get here anyway," he ordered me, "and make it fast, dammit!"
I
left the cantina and staggered southward while trying to stop myself from
falling over. I was already regretting the drink I had two minutes ago. I hoped
there would be somewhere to pick up some much-needed equipment on the way. In a
city full of weapon shops and illegal arms dealings I happened to choose to go
down the street where there were no guns to be acquired.
I arrived at the
Hotel Condessa. It was one of the largest hotels in the city. It was a giant
tower, fifty stories high. At its peak was a giant revolving restaurant from
where you could see far beyond the city on a good day. Out side the main
entrance there was a group of people. Some of them I recognised. There was
Shiatsu my squad leader, Smug_GIT a sergeant who was once in my squad, Private
Pogson who had recently joined one of the squads in Bravo Company, and four
others who I did not recognise. I figured they must be from Bravo Company too.
No one was in correct armour, this was obviously an emergency
situation.
"Lander," said Shiatsu, "'bout time you got here."
"I sorry," I
said, "I'm pi pi p ****ed out of my mind."
Shiatsu sighed. He always said
that I drink too much when on leave. He was right. Usually on my first day back
on duty I found myself with a terrible hangover, as if banthas were jumping on
my head. "There's a troop of killer monkeys in the restaurant." Shiatsu told us
all, "they are currently just on the restaurant level. The other guests are
unaware of the situation and we don't intend to..."
"HAHAHAHAHA" I laughed
realising that was a joke. It wasn't common for Shiatsu to make jokes like this,
but he was with Smug_GIT and this was a classic example of one of his jokes. I
realised that nobody else was laughing. They all had dead serious looks on their
faces. I stopped laughing. This wasn't a joke. There really were killer
monkeys in the hotel.
"We don't intend to cause panic. If the monkeys figure
out how to use the elevators then the guest are as good as dead." Concluded
Shiatsu, who was obviously trying to take control of the situation.
"We must
wait for backup to arrive before we try anything," said Smug, the other squad
leader in the group.
Shiatsu and Smug started arguing on how to deal with the
situation.
"**** it!" I said, "I'm going in. Anyone else coming?"
I walked
past Smug and grabbed his blaster off him, since he had been against going in
and walked though the hotel main doors. Shiatsu and Pogson followed me. We took
the elevator up to the restaurant level. The doors opened into a corridor. On
one side were the doors to the restrooms and on the other was the door to the
kitchen. The corridor led to the donut shaped dining room where the booths were
round the sides so customers could look out the windows. At the end of the
corridor stood about twenty monkeys. Pogson was the first to step out of the
elevator and open fire on them. They were fast. The speed at which they moved
looked faster then a pod racer. They probably weren't that fast, but my drunken
state seemed to exaggerate their speed. They lunged at Pogson, all of them.
Within a second Pogson was buried under them. Blood splattered everywhere. I hit
the button to go down in the elevator. The doors slowly closed. Just before the
doors were fully closed one of the monkeys looked up at me. The monkey lunged
into the door and stopped it from closing. The money was wedged between the
doors and so the doors opened again. I kicked the two-foot tall monkey out of
the doorway and ran into the corridor again. I started kicking the monkeys off
Pogson. I saw his face. It had been stripped to the bone in seconds. His eye
sockets were dark empty spaces. Monkeys jumped onto me and started clinging onto
my skin. I suddenly gained control of myself and realised I was in great peril.
I turned to run to the lift. The lift was close and the level counter was going
down 46, 45, 44... etc. I ran into the donut shaped room and started to run
round it. Dead bodies of customers' lied in the booths and on the floor, most of
them stripped to the bone. I hid in an empty booth. I peered round the
corner.
"****." I muttered to myself.
There must have been at least thirty
of them. I wondered how I could deal with the situation. I only had my blaster
with me and these things were fast and deadly, whatever they were. I looked
around the corner again. One of them saw me and shrieked at me. The others
looked at me instantly.
"This is it," I thought to myself, "I'm ****ed."
I
looked at Smug's gun. It was low on power. Only one or two shots left in the
thing. I was ****ed. A monkey jumped onto the table in my booth. It looked at me
for a second and opened its mouth to shriek. I took this opportunity to shove my
blaster in its mouth and pulled the trigger. The affect was more impressive then
I had anticipated. The whole top-half of its head separated from its body and
flew across the room. The monkeys were approaching. I looked out of my window.
For once luck was on my side. I blasted the window and jumped out. I'm sure I
only fell for a few seconds but it seemed like eternity before I crashed into
the outside pool. My luck wasn't that great. I had managed to miss the deep end.
Fortunately I didn't land in the shallow end or I'd have been killed for sure. I
sank to the bottom of the pool and smashed my right leg in the bottom. There was
a sharp stab of pain and I knew it was broken. I looked up and saw monkeys
jumping from the window. Fortunately the restaurant had rotated more so only
three of them made it to the pool. The others hit the hard concrete ground and
exploded on impact. Smug_GIT and the other troops ran to the pool and opened
fire on the monkeys. One of the monkeys jumped up at Smug and it went for his
jugular with its sharp teeth. I looked away. I couldn't bare to see my friend
die. I heard a laser shot and opened my eyes. On the floor in front of Smug was
a dead monkey. One of the bravo troops had shot it. He then shot one of the
other monkeys that was still in the pool. He was about to shoot the other monkey
when it jumped out of the water and onto his face. It ripped into his face and
part of it was flung into the water in front of me. Floating in a pool of red
was the man's eye.
One of the other troops then shot the monkey and that's
the last thing I remember.'
Ironfist gave me a confused look for a second and
then he said "What the hell are you talking about? You were involved in a
transport crash."
"Oh ****!" I said, "I must have had even more to drink than
I thought last night."
