A Fathers Wish, A Sons Hatred

The shuttle had docked while Kemish was still asleep. Right arm folder under his head as barrier against the filth covering the table. His left hand was under his jacket clutching at the case of the pistol his father had given him three days before. It didn't matter that he had no idea how to use it. It was something secure to hold onto when he began his trip. Now it was just something he wanted to use on any Wookies he could find. Sweat beaded on his pale forehead and coated his thin arms in greasy goo. The nightmares were coming back, murmurs and low moans to quiet for anyone to hear unless sitting beside him. He shook his head in answer to some unspoken question.

His mind was flooded with the images he had seen only three ago. His father arguing with a man he didn't know. Shouting at each other just out side of the mans sleeping quarters. Finally his father smiled, reached into s pocket and handed something to the man. Kemish could see how the mans face took on some calmness for a moment. A wide smile on his wide face and the ease in his brow. He didn't like that man.

He shook his head again then squeezed the pistol case. He was running with his father to catch the shuttle. His father pulled him aside just pass a turn in a hallway. He pushed the pistol into his arms and slipped something into his pocket. "You have to go now, it's time. With your brother dead you have to go boy!" His fathers' voice was angry with him. Kemish didn't know why, but he understood. "You know where the shuttle it is. It will take you where you must go." Kemish stood still for a moment; he couldn't really remember where the shuttle was. He was scared and angry. He looked at the pistol hiding in its case. He felt his father pull him down the hallway then push at him.

"Dock 12! Run boy!" His father yelled to him as he started to run back up the hall trying to jerk something free of his belt.

It came to him then; he was short on time. Only twenty minutes to reach dock 12. He started to run toward the dock. It was important he make that shuttle very important. He heard his father cry out his ears could only pick up the words "For the..". He heard Wookies then a scream and knew his father was dead.

A growling sound came from his throat, buried into the side of his arm where slept. He could feel them chasing him. They wanted something, he didn't know what. He turned and ran across three open rooms. The quickest way to the dock was just down the next hallway. My pocket! He thought, They killed my father for what's in my pocket! He ran faster, trying to make the hall before they could see him. There it was, he could see the other hall running along before him. He could see the doors to the dock. He ran through the doors and hit all the buttons he could until the door closed.

His body started to relax, the nightmare eased. Kemish was sitting in his with his father at home. The look on the face of his father was angry and sad. He looked at Kemish and began to tell him of his brothers' death.

"Your brother is dead." He began, "His shuttle was attacked by the rebels."

Kemish shoot his head again, wiping the sweat off his forehead in his sleep. He was too young to understand why a shuttle would be attacked. It was so long ago to him now even though barely five years had passed. The dream was like a memory adding fuel to him. His lips twisted, even in sleep the hatred he felt could be seen on his face.

"When you're old enough, you will be sent to the Shadow Academy. To serve the empire." His father was telling him. "They will teach you things I cannot for the glory of the empire." His young mind barely knew what the empire was. He did know he hated the rebels. His stomach was in knots. Why would they want to kill my brother? He thought. He jerked awake, sitting upright with wide eyes. His hand sliding into the pistol case gripping the gun itself. He heard it again. A Wookie, one of the beast things that killed his father. He pulled the gun free and looked down at it in his jacket. He studied it quickly and flipped a switch like button in its side. The pistol began to feel warn in his hand. Kemish looked up just as the monster was waling into the room. It's massive body covered in thick matted hair. The monstrous thing was walking toward him. His mid went blind with rage as he shouted curses at the beast. He pulled the pistol up above the table. The Wookie made a noise some whining growl. Kemish pulled the trigger eight times shooting at the thing. He cursed it over and over, then pulled the trigger again shooting the wall. He couldn't see the nasty thing anywhere.

He stood up, looking around. There it was lying on the dirty floor, smoke and lazer burns across its torso. He smiled as he cursed the Wookie again, then spat on it. As he turned and sat back down his mind fully awake again he remembered it was the third day of the trip. One more, He thought. And I will be at the Shadow Academy. A smile curled his lips.

BOOM!
Roots scratched at his soft boots while he made his way through the brush. Holding his robes close to him to keep the thorn bushes from tearing he continued on his journey. His pace quickened as time grew short. The mission at hand was simple enough; the time to do it in was the only problem. Just like the coward rebels to build a compound in these kinds of surrounds, He thought stepping over a massive root and ducking under a low branch. The first half-mile had been worse with thorns, venomous creatures, and pressure censors. The landscape was starting to calm and his travel doubled in speed.

He stepped into a small clearing and quickly made his way across. In less than an hours time the compound would be crawling with rebels trying to finish construction on two satellite receivers. As it was there should only be one or two engineers and perhaps a skeleton crew. No more than eight people total, all he had to do was get into the compound without being noticed. He paused as a censor turned and made a sweep ten feet in front of him. He followed the turn of the device with his own movements and quickly made away from it.

He saw a break in the foliage and lowered himself under a low limb, his eyes covered the ground before him. Fifty yards to the compound and no cover to be had. Slowly he took in every detail the side of the compound had. Gray metal ran along the outer area acting like a wall. Four-inch slots had been cut into some of the panels a foot and a half high in some areas. It was typical for manned outpost in this region two gateways to either side of a ruined building that looked to be set for repairs. There were two holes in the metal at the base of the building. They looked like some form of weapon had burnt through there.

All in all it was quiet with no movements aside from a couple of hanging cables from broken rigging. The ground to the left of him was scarred like something had been drug across the surface of the ground eating away the soil and pushing it aside as it went. He looked to his right. The northern area was just cleared nothing had been drug across it to scar the ground. They've already been able to get one full dish in. His thought with displeasure while he continued to scan the landing area the Rebels had cleared. He made one last quick look over the side of the compound then quickly rose and ran across the plain. He tucked his booted feet close together and slid then through one of the burnt holes in the wall. His black gloved hands catching the metal while his own momentum carried him through. A quick release and he snapped upright falling against a post while his gaze took in the surrounding area just within the wall. There was no one close by he could sense that. He was more concerned with more motion censors. If there were any they were not operational yet. They want these relays set up as quickly as possible. They make grave errors in their haste. He though while he continued to take in the area. There, just down two buildings were the sites the Dishes would be set up. One was already in place. Cable and wire hung down about its base it hadn't been there for very long. The building just to the side of it was bare at the ground floor but filled with various supplies. Medical supplies to the left, Technical to the right, and foodstuffs in the center. Two desks were set up with electrical units spread across them. It was the only building that had power. He slid out from behind the post and made his way to the next structure. It looked to be a dorm room building. No one was in it at the time, he could tell. Quickly he dropped a charge into the open side of a pipe facing the wall then made his way across to the first dish, only half of it could be salvaged. The rest had already been removed. He set a charge on either side of its and quickly moved to the other doing the same.

Someone was coming, he ran across the open area into the storage facility. The single building with power, conduit and cables ran from the back of it to the second floor all across the ceiling. He took a corner of the room to himself and hid within the shadows. He waited a moment, whoever was coming was coming closer. The light was dim in the back of the room where he was, but bright toward the open side of the building. It was an engineer. He dropped two charges at his feet knowing the other could hear them. The engineer looked into the darkness of the back of the room but couldn't see him. His white uniform started to come closer to the darkness and he held a hand over his eyes to shield them from the light above so that he may see better. The Krath Jedi hunter moved to the other corner dropping another two charges. He smiled as his eyes narrowed slightly. The engineer dropped to the ground in full sleep before his head hit the ground. The Jedi moved out from behind the supplies and hurried back the way he had come. He tossed charges randomly at buildings he passed until he was out side of the wall. Ten minutes, he though as he ran back across the plain into the brush. Quickly he made his way back across the meadow and back into the foliage. He only had a few more minutes to get as far from the compound as he could before the Rebels were to begin landing.

Twenty minutes and five broken motion censors later he walked across a clear area and boarded a waiting ship. Shortly after take off the compound and ever rebel it went into many directions at once and burned as the blasts from the charges the Jedi had set.

All Sith squadrons, engage the enemy!" Shouted the squadron commander. Avenger Two and theee shot ahead of him, coming on to the 5 or 6 squadrons of Ewings that had been launched from the MC-90a Retribution, a capital ship of the Rebels. Avenger one set throtal to full on his TIE Avenger, and sped off to hit the enemy head on. The Ewings were in concussion missle range, and so Avenger's 1-3 fired 2 concussion missles each, using their Sith abilities to target and destroy the stupid Rebel ships. 6 Rebel Ewings were destroyed.
********************

"Those Sith boys are good! Lets show them some Republic fighting spirit!" Gold leader shouted to his flight. He had a quick lock on a Sith fighter, and fired several quick shots. The ship's shields bukeled, then collapsed, leaving teh craft undefended. The Sith pilot tryed to out manuver Gold Leader, but 3 more blasts hit the cockpit, causing the ship to explode in all its fiery glory. He jerked the ship upwards, avoiding one concussion missle that had slid by him un noticed. He jerked again, but ti was to late. The missle slammed into the ship underneath it, spliting the ship in half.
*********************

Two rebel squadrons had been destroywed, with only a minimal loss of fighter pilots-4-to be exact. "Omega and Alpha, take care of that Rebel Cruiser. Avenger, lets take care of these Rebels."

The Sith, with their enhanced piloting skills, easily destroyed two more squadrons. however, the last two had not taken any losses in this battle....
**********************

"Rogues, be careful. This is Avenger we're facing!" Verel Tum, the new Rogue CO, told the Rogues. "I sent Blue Squadron to go take those other two sqaudrons, its our turn now!" The Rogues dove directly intot eh Avenger formation, taking down two fighters and damaging 6 others. Avenger had 8 functional fighter left.

"Rogue one, this is 10...the explosion from one fighter took out one of my engines...." 10 told Rogue leader

"Calm down, get back to the-" then 10's blip was was gone, and then so was 8's, and 5's.

"Sir! Something-" 3's blip died. Verel checked the sensors...

"Retreat!! ROGUES RETREAT!!!!!"
***********************

"Thanks for the back up Gamma." Avenger leader stated.

"No problem 1. I expected you Sith to do better." Gamma leader laughed.

"You missle boat pilots are all the same. Try flieing against the Rogues in a dogfight."

"Avenger 1, this is Omega one. The Rebel ship's shields are out, repeat, shields are down!" Omega 1 said.

"Catch those retreating Rogue's with your mag pulse, Gammas, we're goin' in to finish the Rebel Cruiser." Avenger said.
************************

"Sir, they're targeting us with Mag Pulse! Hyperspace jump in 1 minute!..... Sir, they've fired the missles!" A Rogue called out

"Evasive action Rogues!" Verel told his pilots.
***********************
"They're disabled. Armign missles. Targeting. Avegner One, may we destroy the targets?" Gamma one asked.

"Leave Rogue One. He'll be interesting to have. We have defeated Rogue Squadron." Avenger leader said.

***********************

Verel watched helplessly as his pilots were blown away one by one. "HOW CAN THEY DO THIS?!?!?!?!" He screamed. But no one could hear him. his com was dead. He was dead. Maybe, MAYBE, Anathla would be saved. He saw her ship off to the right and below his...in 10 seconds she'd regain engines. 9....8..7...6...5..4..3..2..1..And er ship was blown up.

"NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Verel screamed. A huge shockwave launched from his shick destroying all of Gamma squadron. Verel's head was pulsing. "Let your anger out..." her heard a dark voice, "let it flow..." He drifted off to sleep, however.
************************

Verel awoke on a hard, cold medal block. It looked like a prison....He remebered how he got here...the Sith taking him prisoner...and then...his anger...was his power. The durasteel door slid open. In walked a buetiful women. "hello, Verel. As you know your friends are dead. The Rebellion is dead. Your world is dead. I offer you the chance to join us....to join the Sith. We will show you where TRUE power lies. My name is Alerna. One way or another, you will be ours."

"Never! I'll never submit to you! NEVER!!!!!!!" Verel yelled.

"Don't make me do this the hard way now..."

"NEVEEER!!!!!!" He reached inside himself, and touched his anger. Blue lightning flew from his hands, but teh Sith Princess just laughed and ignored him.

"Shall we begin?" From that room, screams of terror could be heard.
************************

"Welcome to the brotherhood of the Sith, Verel. Welcome." She said, lovingly.

"Yes, my master. I shall serve you to my best ability!" Verel said to her.

"Good. Very good. Rest." She told him, and Verel fell a sleep. The dark side had won. .

The Gauntlet

Lionness looked around the great hall. The ceiling was a good 15 meters from the floor. It was held in place by large rafters of what appeared to be ironwood, but she realized, it could have been anything given where she was. The walls were hand craved, that much she knew, although she was sure that the force had been used to steady the hands and guide them in their artist endeavors. Scenes of rancors and witches working together to build some of the greater cities were shown, as well as the great battles that took place when the Emperor had come. The detail of these scenes were amazing. As she looked she waited, holding her breath she realized, for the scenes to come to life. The beauty of the great hall could not hold her attention for long. She had come to this holy place for a reason, and she would not allow herself to be side tracked.

Breathing deeply as she had been taught, Lionness opened her mind to the feel of the place, looking for the High Priestess. She knew that the woman was here somewhere. She also knew that it was her favorite game to let the who came here to see her seek her out and there was only one way to seek her out. The force flowed through Lionness bring a smiles to her lips, it didn't take long to locate the older woman, she was in the room The one that held the very thing she had come here for.

"Respected Mother, may I speak with you. I believe that it is important" Lionness sent with her thoughts. "Come child, bring yourself to me. I am in the room with that which you truly seek. Come and let us talk about this thing that you would do." The High Priestess replied.

Hurrying to join her Lionness again feel the rage that had brought her here. The pain and anger flowed through her as easily as the force did, almost shunning her with its power. She knew that knowing would stop her from her chosen path. Nothing could stop her. It was simply a matter of how she would proceed down that path at this point, not a matter of whether she would or not.

"You have come to claim you are the one to fill the prophesy, have you not? You have come to claim the Gauntlet as yours and completely what you started the day you can home to us from your wayward mother. It this not true young daughter?" The High Priestess asked as Lionness entered the Temple proper. Her eyes drawn to where the Gauntlet normal sat covered by a red silk cloak. It was gone! Lionness felt confused and angered all at the same time. The old woman had done nothing more then trick her into coming here so that she could send the Gauntlet out of the temple and away from her.

"You have taken it from its rightful place. Why? If you knew I was coming, why waste my time and yours by moving it? You know I will find it, you can not hide from me that which is mine by birthright." Lionness growled softly to the older woman. "Do not press me child, for that is what you are. You have much to learn and it is truly a shame that you will not learn it before the glove covers your hand and changes you for the rest of your life. I only hope that your will is stronger then it appears to be at the moment, otherwise we are all lost. The Gauntlet has been moved to the Testing room as is our way. Once the Elder Mothers have decided to allow you to try to claim it you will be taken then after you have fasted for seven days and nights. Then you will be allowed to try, only then, and I can only say that I hope the force flows strong though you as will need every bit of it.

You will be allowed not visitors, my shadow warrior will take you to the room where you must fast. You will be given on food or drink for this time, and I hope that when you are brought to the Testing room you are ready." A soft cough at Lionness elbow indicated to her that the shadow warrior was waiting for her to follow him. She nodded once in respect to the High Priestess and follow the large male. Her mind was racing. However, she knew that she would have plenty of time in the next few days to calm her thoughts.

"What do you mean, she wants to try, I don't much care what the girl wants. As I have pointed out time and time again to this council, she is nothing more then the daughter of a outcast. Why should we concern ourselves with one such as she?" Kara, looked around at her peers and knew she was wasting her breath. The decision was not hers to make and for that matter it had already been made by the looks on many of the faces that stared back at her.

"Why do you worry Kara, if she is what you say her to be, then you have no worry, the Gauntlet will destroy her and then we will finally be done with her." the High Priestess whispered, knowing that everyone heard every word she said.

It was at that point that the Queen Mother entered the room. The other woman looked up in surprise as the monarch entered. She was not suppose to know about this and even if she did she should not be here. This was not a matter of state, it was a matter or prophesy and therefore fell under the domain of the council and the High Priestess.

"Greeting Sisters, I hear the is one that will try from the Gauntlet. I look forward to the decision that this council makes, as it will give me some entertainment for a few hours." the Queen announced as she say herself outside of the circle formed by the Elder Mothers. "And if you decide to let her do it, I am sure that will provide me with even more entertainment. I have not seen a fool walk to her death in a long time."

The High Priestess let no emotion cross her face, but she was angry. The Queen knew she should not be here, but the silly bitch was worried for her throne. After all if somehow the child did succeed, she could possible take the throne from her. Well, the old woman though to herself, the force will do as it sees fit, who am I to question it. She called for the vote. It was now or never, the longer the Queen was here the most likely the vote was to go against the girl and never give her the chance.

It took only a few short moments to decide the faith of the young woman. They decided to let her try, after all the High Priestess was right, if she was not the one that she claimed to be, then the Gauntlet itself would kill her and they need not worry about it anymore.

The High Priestess meant the eyes of each of the Elder Mothers as they left the council room, she could see that not a single one believed that the girl would live.

Lionness sat crossed legged on the floor in a semi trance state. That was all she could manage at this point. She had sat this way for the past three days. Nude and without food or drink, she had been told that she would not be allowed to move from this position until it was time for her to make her attempt. Even with her level of control she was still having to use large parts of her abilities to keep the fatigue from over coming her.

She heard a noise. No, she was imagining things again, it was her mind playing tricks on her to draw her attention away from her physical discomfort. There is was again, a soft sliding noise.

Something warm and wet was placed to her lips, Lionness opened her mouth and took it in not caring what it was only that it would wet her dried throat. She opened her eyes to see who had force the substance into her mouth. A large dark cloaked figure stood before her. Her eyes slide around the room as best as they could and realized that two shadow warriors had come through a secret passage in the north walk with an "unchosen" to feed her and give her water. The two shadow warriors were standing by the door watching and listening to make sure they were undetected.

The "unchosen" brought water to her mouth and allowed her to sip a little at a time, not allowing her to drink to much as he knew it would make her sick. As soon as she swallowed he pushed a few more bits of herbs into her mouth. They were all nature and would not harm her fast.

Lionness tried to look into the "unchosen" eyes and express her thanks, but he move before she could see inside his cowl. She had never felt such gratitude too anyone before, especially a male.

Before she realized what was happening the three males had slide long bars into the floor and moved the platform that she sat on, then as quickly and quietly as they had move it, the "unchosen" picked her up and moved her every so slightly so that it appeared that she had not moved at all. Her legs and lower back flared with pain when they were moved, but she was grateful never the less.

The three were gone back out the hidden passage as quietly as they had come. In the days that followed they returned only once. On the six day to repeat the process.

"Its time Lionness. Come and join us in the testing room. You will be able to find your way I trust?" the High Priestess mind touched her lightly but firmly.

"I will come, and I will take what is mine." Lionness answered back with a confidence she really didn't feel.

The guards entered the room and made as if to help her stand. The pain almost dropped her back to her knees as she refused their help and stood alone. She quietly block the pain from her mind, knowing that she would have to be at her very best to live though the next few hours. She was not really sure what she should expect, but she knew that many had tried before her and died. She was determined that she would not die.

When she entered the Testing Room she was still nude, as is the custom among the Dathomirian witches. All the great trials as done in the nude, as they were born, so they would face their destinies. She looked around quickly and noted that all the Elder Mothers from all the Clans were present as well as the Queen and the High Priestess.

No knowing what was exactly expected of her she stepped forward into the center of the room. It was a large room. Big enough even to fit several rancors with room for them to turn around. Pain shot through her legs and she feared that she would not be able to take another step and then she looked up and saw the Gauntlet uncovered. It was the first time in her life that she actually had seen the item itself, as it remain covered at all times. However, she had not doubt that it was the real thing. It felt right.

Fearing that she would fall if she took another step Lionness raised her right hand and will the gauntlet to come to her. She felt the force flowing through her as the gauntlet rose from the golden stand it had been upon, and then, then the lava started to flow through her veins as the glove settled over her hand.

A mind not her own but her own screamed in pain as a voice told her the He would accept her if she would accept herself.

The woman rose from the floor. Her eyes were glowing a strange red color. It was the only light in the room as all the others had gone out. The power of the gauntlet flowed through her as lava flow from a mountain. She had never in her short life felt the force that she felt now. She knew without having to be told that the gauntlet had burn pathways in her brain that were never suppose to have been opened. She would be able to learn to channel the force as none of the witches had done before, at least not since Allya.

"Welcome me Witches, I am Lionness and I am a Sister to the Night."

All present hissed and nodded. They knew the truth when it stood before them. They were not sure if Lionness had meant that she was a NightSister, or if she mean something else. But none felt the need to ask her. All of them hurried from the room. Except for the High Priestess and the Queen Mother. "Your Majesty, I seek to avenger myself on the blood of those that killed my parent. I will make plans to leave as soon as I can. I also require the services of a shadow warrior, if you think I warrant the right."

"You may have that which you seek, I will call the "unchosen" together immediately and I will help you with your plans to leave. As a matter of fact I know of a freighter that will be here within the day." The Queen said as she refused to meet the younger womans eyes. She would have given her anything at the moment to be rid of her.

Lionness simply nodded in her direction and turned her attention to the High Priestess. "You were right about one thing. The force must be strong in you. I have own my life and my freedom this day. In days to come I will win the freedom of my pain with the death of the jedis who murdered those that I loved. I can see in your eyes that you fear you have made the wrong decision to allow me this. You could have not stopped me you know, you could have never stopped me. The Gauntlet is mine now....."

The Rancor Hunt

The woman looked up from the large track on the ground and turned to her mounted sisters.

"I have found the tracks of a large male I think. This is the one I chose for myself. The tracks indicate there are three others with it. I am sure that will give you enough sport to keep your busy while I fulfill my quest."

The oldest of the four mounted women looked down at her sister. She wished yet again that she were of the same clan as this one. There was no doubt in the older woman's mind that the magic flooded though this one like the blood that flowed in her veins. She remembered the first time she had seen the young woman use the magic. She had killed a rancor with her barest whisper, saving herself and her family from certain death. That was when her training had begun. When she had finally shown everyone the power she wielded. The older woman had no doubt in her mind that she had hidden her gifts for some time before letting the sisters know of them. But that was the past, and now the woman was completing her training, the last thing that had to be done before she would be fully accepted as a NightSister. She had to capture and control a rancor, without the help of any of the other sisters. Not an easy task to say the least, but one that would teach her the proper respect for her elders when those elders came and rescued her from the very jaws of the rancor.

What the young woman did not know was that none of the sisters had every captured a rancor on their own, not without help from their sisters. The creatures were simply too big to control alone. But this was the final test give to the would be sisters. A hard test, but a necessary one never the less. The power that they all wielded had taught the older sisters to teach the young ones to fear and respect their elders from the very beginning.

"Yes Lionness, you shall have the male, we will take those that travel with it." Laren, the oldest woman said as she sat upon her mount looking down at Lionness.

Lionness was no fool, she seen the slight far away look in the Laren's eyes, she knew without having to be told that the woman had been thinking of her and had also been planning something. Something that Lionness was sure was going to happen soon. Lionness did not trust this woman, for that matter Lionness trusted no one. She simply grunted in response and set off on foot to track the rancor she had chosen. It didn't take long for the four women to find them. After all they were big creatures and very rarely hid themselves. Lionness motioned to the others to keep their mounted downwind of the wild ones, not wanting anything to alert the large predators to their present.

Lionness was feeling very sure of herself. She had tracked the creature a long way and felt as if she almost knew the male rancor at this point. She had spent days following his pattern of leading his small band of females, hunting here and there for food, stopping now and again to take one of his females. He though himself the biggest strongest creature in the area. And on any other day he would have been right, but not today Lionness thought. Today, I am the strongest, and I shall prove it.

She felt it was necessary to do something that was totally unexpected of her, something that the other mounted sisters would not except. She need to take them by surprise as much as she needed to take the large rancor by surprise. She didn't know what they were planning as she chose not to listen to the mind communication that she could seen going on between them. She was however very sure that they were planning something. She knew that it was not unheard of for the younger sisters not to survive the final test. And she knew that many of the sisters did not like her very much. She was after all the favored one among the older sisters and even a few of the Mothers. It was even said that the Queen would seek her out once she had finished her training. So, it would not surprise her greatly if her follow sisters were planning her demise. It was the way among the NightSisters, even though it wasn't encouraged, and most of the time was looked down upon, it still happened. After all when you have a group of people as powerful as the NightSisters, they were bound to take care of problems they had in any way they would see fit at the time.

The large male rancor raised its head to the fully extend its short neck and sniff the wind. It looked around, feeling in its small brain a threat that it could not entirely understand.

Lionness knew that time was now or never as the rancor could sense something was up. She stepped out of the shelter of the bushes that she had been hiding behind and was rewarded with her all three of the older woman grasp at her bold move.

Without giving them another though Lionness directed the force within her to grab the rancor and to immediately begin to calm him. The fight was great and Lionness was aware of the other woman taking control of their selves and bringing the females under control. Lionness slowly walked toward the large rancor. She could not remember seeing one as large as this one. He had wonderful color and long sharp fangs extend out from his closed mouth.

"Good boy" she cooed softly under her breath to him as she drew closer to the creature. She was not close enough for the creature to reach out with is short front legs and rip her apart, however the rancor made no move to harm her.

Lionness was not even aware of the two other woman would had appeared on the scene and watched along with the three mounted woman as the younger woman done what could not be. If Lionness had been aware of them, she would have felt the deep satisfaction of seeing a quick glitter of fear pass though several of their eyes. "She has fulfilled the prophesy yet again. She is the one among us that does not need to control the rancor, she tames them with a touch, look even now she is petting the damn thing." The Elder Mother said as she looked to the others standing around her.

"But she has not yet fulfilled the most important one Kara, do not fear, she will never hold The Gauntlet. She is after all nothing more then the daughter of an outcast. She could never hope to hold it. It would never accept her.."

"Quite, look she has managed to saddle it and mount, she is headed this way" Kara croaked.

Lionness had indeed walked right up to the creature, and started by petting it's the nose that it lower to her reach. She wasted no time in getting him saddle and ready to ride. She was however, a bit surprised when she mounted and the creature didn't react to the unfamiliar weigh of a human on its back.

She rode toward the other sisters, her deep feeling of pride almost too much for her to hide from them.

"Welcome NightSister, come let us return to the keep and feast on this night of nights. Tonight we welcome a new NightSister to our Clan." Kara said to Lionness as she turned and mounted her rancor and rode back the way she had come.

In a rare moment of kindness Laren actually reached out touched the hand of Lionness as their rancors fell into step beside on another.

"Welcome Sister, I will tell my daughter of your greatness this day, is will become legend among our kind. You have done well."

A Day at the Shadow Academy
By ACO Dave

The three young apprentices of the Shadow Academy woke up much like they had every other day they had been there, but today a strange uneasiness seemed to be in the air. The Shadow Academy Headmaster, Wrath, was away, this did not particularly upset things because he had done it many times before. So the three got up put of bed and put on their robes to go to breakfast. They discussed what their plans for today were,

"I'm pretty sure that the simulator will be open this morning, so I believe I will go do that." said Apprentice KP.

Apprentice Dave replied in shock, "You're not coming to the lecture on lightsabers! What are you mad?"

"No, not really mad." said KP, " I just want to get some good time in the training simulator. Have fun at the lecture Dave."

So KP went his own way and Dave and the other young apprentice Michael went back to their room because they had a half an hour or so before the lecture began. The two chatted about KP, and thought that it was really strange what he had decided to do. Nevertheless, Michael and Dave went off to the lightsaber lecture. Several important speakers were standing in front of the auditorium with lightsabers in hand. They showed the young apprentices lightsaber basics along with a little combat skills. So the two began taking notes, and they did for the next few hours...

Apprentice KP had gone into the training simulator as he had planned. He worked on his blaster skills so he could show off to his friends when he got back. After about an hour, the lights went off in the simulator, and KP was wondering why that happened. Quickly enough however, KP was shocked to see a man in a dark cape standing in the darkness. KP tried to run, but to no avail. The man in the dark cape seemed to trip him using the force. KP only being an apprentice could do nothing and was quickly shoved into a bag. All he could do now was scream, but he was too afraid.

Meanwhile, Dave and Michael had finished listening to the lecture and had gone back to the room to practice. The two went to lunch and were amazed not to see KP there, for he was not one to miss a meal. But, the two had their exercises outside after lunch, so they went and almost completely forgot about their friend. The day went on like most other, and dinner came and went without seeing KP. A voice came over the loud speaker and said in a rushed voice,

"All members need to go back to their bunks immediately! An intruder is on the grounds."

So the apprentices went back as told, but when they went back they did not see KP. This scared them. They tried to talk to someone on the comlink, but all of the academy's officers were out looking for the intruder. Seeing no other way that they might save their friend, Dave and Michael left the bunk and started searching. The two noticed that the academy seemed quiet, almost too quiet, so they went on cautiously. They searched all of the grounds except for the one place that they feared most, the basement. Upperclassmen had always told stories of how the basement contained Jedi experiments gone wrong, and Jedi weapons that wouldn't work, like the TIE Ewok and Light Jedi Wing.

Down into the basement they went, farther and farther until it seemed the stairs would never end, but of they did come to an end, and what they saw, scared them greatly. Almost everyone at the academy had been tied up and gagged. Even the teachers and speakers at the lightsaber lecture were tied up. The apprentices realized that only a large force of elite light jedi masters could do this. So it was, as the two saw them interrogating some of the prisoners. Dave and Michael tried to run back up the stairs, but to their bad luck, a light jedi was walking down the stairs and grabbed them.

"Looks like we have them all," said the light jedi.

The man that seemed to be leader of the group grinned as he heard this and began laughing. One of the apprentices said,

"You wont get away with this", and just as he said that, he was thrown backwards into the wall. So no one else dared to speak. Communication using the force didn't work, something with the light jedi around must have caused it too.

Meanwhile outside on the landing pad, a transport landed carrying the Shadow Academy headmaster Wrath and a man in a black cape. He was mostly covered up, but there was a certain awe to him. Wrath could easily sense that something was wrong, but could not yet tell what. Suddenly the man in the black cape spoke,

"I feel something that I have not felt in a long time. Almost like the feeling of light. We should follow this sense Wrath, let us go!"

So the two followed the sense down into the basement where the were shocked to see what the young apprentices had seen before. A voice beckoned from the basement. "Welcome Wrath, you will join the rest of your pathetic dark Jedi's."

The whole force of about 30 light Jedi's attacked, all but the leader. A force of immense power came from the man in the dark cape, a power never before experienced by some of the younger Jedi. The attacking force was thrown back much like the young apprentice that had tried to speak before.

The leader spoke, "Ah, Grandmaster Khyron, so we meet again."

The caped man revealed himself to all, and it was in fact, the Grandmaster. The light Jedi master unleashed a power similar to that of the Grandmasters that knocked down Wrath who was not expecting.

"A battle to the end!" yelled the Grandmaster drawing his lightsaber.

"To the end!" replied the leader.

So a lightsaber duel began. As more and more of the light Jedi awoke from their shock, they began helping their master. No one was watching the rest of the Shadow Academy members, so Wrath freed them all. An all out brawl erupted in the Shadow Academy basement. Dave and Michael joined up with their friend KP, and went and fought by the side of Wrath (Feeling that they would be safest their). The fighting went on.

The dark side force was overwhelming the light Jedi's and some where becoming desperate. One of the younger light Jedi's pulled a blaster and shot at Wrath's back. On instinct, KP threw himself in front of the laser fire, saving Wrath's life, or at least some bad pains. The dark groups rage grew and soon the battle was over. The Grandmaster and Wrath stood over KP. Something that looked like lighting came from the Grandmasters fingertips. KP's wounds began healing in a matter of seconds and was soon standing on his own.

Several words came from KP's mouth, "What's for dinner?"

The Grandmaster replied, "Good idea, nothing like a Jediwar to work up someone's appetite."

Everyone got a good laugh and were back to the bunk or to have a snack. The next morning things were back to normal at the Shadow Academy. The three friends went on to become powerful Jedi's. On more than one occasion, KP was invited to dine with Grandmaster Khyron. And oddly enough, Wrath always seemed to be a little more lenient on KP's works. So life went on at the Shadow Academy, never knowing what would happen the next day.

"Come, the hour is nigh.", said Cyan to his band of Dark Jedi. In silence, they loaded the transport with basic supplies, and left for the battle of their lives…and of their death.

The annual Light Jedi conference was on, and Jedi flocked from all over the galaxy. There would be thousands… and what better time to eliminate them? Cyan and his band docked on a nearby planet, and went in an escape pod to the planet of the conference. The pod was cramped, and wasn't designed for the amount of people in it, but he had better things to be concerned with. He had been assigned this task, because he had experience in wiping out Light Jedi groups before…but had never done anything as large as this. The escape pod was covered under a cloud of darkness, by the Jedi in it. So consumed they were by the dark side that it was their only goal, much like…zombies. Still hiding themselves through the Dark Side, they crawled into a ventilation duct. It was cramped, and very dark, but darkness was a way of life.

"Quiet! They're speaking", whispered Cyan.

"The Dark Jedi are a plague that must be wiped out, if we are to return order and stability to this galaxy! To create a new order of Light Jedi, we must first exterminate those who would influence our students…for the worse."

"Heh,what fools" Thought Cyan. They crawled up another duct, and escaped out onto a platform overlooking the meeting. Still covered in darkness, Cyan released a beam of pure Dark Force energy. As the screams of the torched Jedi echoed around the Grand Hall, a spread of panic ran through the Jedi… Cyan then released a few more, and was recognized. The cover of Darkness was being penetrated by the Light. Suddenly, Zombies came from the ground. Although weak in flesh, the zombies could not be stopped - They knew no fear. However, return fire of the Light Jedi killed most of Cyan's band. The Zombies kept the wizards occupied, as they slaughtered the Jedi.

Suddenly, fires erupted from the ground, and burnt the undead Zombies. Although all the Zombies were dead, the Light Jedi were wiped out with them. Only one remained. Cyan jumped down to the pedestal in the centre, and looked around. He heard a fizzling sound, and turned around. The Light Jedi Master was standing there. The duel began.

Cyan let loose a ball of energy, and the Jedi dodged it. Cyan could feel the attempt by the Jedi to immobilize him, but fought it. Cyan was nearly dead… As he released Sanguine Swords, swords of pure force, created from the remnants of power, which was now exhausted, he collapsed.. This was his last chance. Suddenly the swords ripped the Jedi apart.

The Light Jedi were no more.

Forces Rising

I watched from afar as they began their 'holy' ritual. It was in the dead of night, and everything seemed black. Except, of course, for the Light Jedi. And the Glacier. The One which would cause all my problems later on.

The information I had been given was scant. There would be a Light Jedi Ritual, of reviving an Old Republic Jedi Warrior. He had been frozen by the Dark Jedi, working under Emperor Palpatine themselves, and hidden deep within the ice rivers of Krix. His identity was unknown, except that he was important enough to be assassinated in such a way by Palpatine's Own.

The Light Jedi Master threw his hands up in the air, and started chanting. The few Jedi scattered around joined with him, in a kind of badly-coordinated chorus. They stayed chanting for several minutes. I knew that he would summon the Jedi Flame, to thaw the Old Republic Jedi out. And what better time to strike…?

I charged out, and shot a bolt of lightning out and exterminated the weak Jedi, scattered around.

I shot at the Master as well, but it had no effect. I knew what was happening. He was in the middle of a trance, and was so engrossed in it that he could feel nothing. Damn! The Jedi Flame rose from the ground under the block of ice encasing the Jedi, and melted it quickly. The Jedi was alive! He attempted to strangle me, and he was very powerful. He knocked me unconscious, and left me for dead.

"Who…who are you, you who melted my prison of ice?"
"We are Light-Side Jedi, much like yourself. In this day, Evil, Dark Jedi rule, and we must stop them."

I got up, and while they were too busy talking amongst themselves, I drew my lightsaber and killed the New Jedi Master quickly. The Old Jedi, numb and slow from the decades of ice, fell to the ground. I sliced his throat. Old fool.
