Brother Jedi.
When last I came before you, I spoke of two universal truths. I lectured on the mastery of emotions as the true route to power, and I introduced the concept of the common good. Today, I come to present more controversial ideas. I will address an issue that has divided Dark Jedi for millennia, and long been a source of bitter controversy. I have come to reveal the delicate balance between confrontation and manipulation, between brute force and subtle control. I have come to illuminate the path to power.
The Force, as we know, pervades the universe. We are the elect, the chosen few, who possess the ability to use the Force, and to wield it in the pursuit of the common good. As such, it is our right, our destiny, to rule over the masses who lack this power. Any who would stand in our way harm the galaxy for their own benefit, by putting their petty needs above the common good.
Still, not all are capable of the insight and will that mark the Jedi. There
are those who throw obstacles in our path to greatness, and in the galaxy's journey toward peace and prosperity. Clearly, for the good of the galaxy, these ignorant, or worse, selfish peons must be defeated. But how?
They yet control much power. They yet command vast fleets. They yet have the potential to hand us grave setbacks. They yet pose a danger to our noble cause.
Some among us always advocate direct confrontation. They are young and headstrong, and have not yet learned that there are times when wisdom dictates a more subtle approach. Others would always negotiate, and always manipulate. They are old and scared, and lack the courage to seize the moment. The wise take the middle path.
We will conquer when we can. We will wield warships, weapons, and wisdom as we win. (You may laugh). But we will not overextend ourselves. For, I submit, the battles may be won by the navy, but if the war is ever to be won, it must be won by the church.
We are men of violence, for our times have necessitated that we use force. But we must not let this divert us from our goal. We can conquer and we can subjugate, we can vanquish and we can rule, but if this is all that we do, our triumph shall not endure. We must win the hearts and the minds of the galaxy, and then no navy, no admiral, and no mere Light Jedi can possibly obstruct our cause!
We have reason and logic on our side. We must use them. We have principle and justice on our side. We must use them. We have the Force on our side. We must use it, too.
My brethren, I bid you preach the truth. Go forth, and tell the galaxy of our cause. Through the church we shall gain dominion, and through it the galaxy shall gain peace and order.
My brethren, I offer you a new cause -- The Crusade of the Dark Jedi!
